I always knew Palin's intelligence was quite questionable but to so blatantly try to deny climate change and call herself a "scientist"...just...wow! Man-caused climate change is so clearly factual from the scientific data we have and yet there are still people trying to line big oil's pockets using any form of denial they can.

Awesome! I really want a massive GPU cluster I can use for #TensorFlow
In order to continually improve the Machine Learning models used in Google products, it's crucial that the training process be as fast as possible. One way to do this is to run #TensorFlow  across hundreds of machines. Ever since we released TensorFlow as an open-source project, distributed training support has been one of the most requested features. Now the wait is over.

When you are saying "I am not exploring alternative opportunities at the present moment" and unsolicited mass-fishing recruiters hear "I am not looking for anything this week, but it's quite fine if you ping me next week and the week after that and the week after that as well" and it's all like...

Here is an excellent breakdown of the Juniper backdoor and a perfect example of why it is a terrible idea to ever include a backdoor into any system. Bruce Schneier warned us way back in 1997 (See https://www.schneier.com/cryptography/archives/1997/04/the_risks_of_key_rec.html) and still we have to constantly battle governments on this issue.

I love seeing progress in quantum computing. Once we can take the recent high temp silicon-based quantum processors out of the lab and get them in the hands of common people we'll see so much more than this. Exciting times to be sure.
The +Google Quantum A.I. Lab Team has found that for certain hard optimization problems, quantum annealing on the D-Wave 2X Quantum Computer significantly outperforms both simulated annealing and Quantum Monte Carlo, showing a processing time speedup of ~100 Million! For more details and a link to the paper, head over to the Google Research blog.

Machine learning has had a huge impact on computer science, making it possible explore new frontiers of research and to develop amazingly useful products that millions of people use every day. Our machine learning system, TensorFlow, is used for everything from speech recognition in the Google app, to Smart Reply in Inbox, to search in Google Photos.

And now you can use it too.

Today, we’re proud to announce the open source release of TensorFlow - our second-generation machine learning system that is a general, flexible, portable, easy-to-use, and completely open source software library for numerical computation using data flow graphs. Head over to the Google Research blog to learn more.
