The PIC comes programmed from the factory during production. For an unprogrammed PIC, I use a PICkit 3 connected to a USB mini-B connector along with a separate wire from the PICkit VPP/MCLR pin to the RST# pin of the XuLA prototyping header.
Yeah, it's a micro data-logger for someone based on an 18F14K50 and a microSD card. Not sure if it will become a product. I'll put a picture in another post since I can't figure out how to do it in a g+ reply.
So I made this VGA PCB and had Itead (in China) fab it along with six other designs. But this one never arrived (although the tracking said it was delivered on Oct 24th). Well, yesterday it showed up ... from Germany. I guess it was placed in the wrong package and the guy who got it looked up my company name and relayed it on to me. I guess I'll have to send Thorsten a free XuLA board to say thanks.
