I got my XuLA 2.A PCBs from +James Neal today. Four layers, true 6/6 design rules and three PCBs for $20.

The PIC comes programmed from the factory during production. For an unprogrammed PIC, I use a PICkit 3 connected to a USB mini-B connector along with a separate wire from the PICkit VPP/MCLR pin to the RST# pin of the XuLA prototyping header.

Cool, i'm really enjoying the concept of OSHW and plan to release the bulk of my products the same way.

as for the 14K50, the pic18f26j50 is a pretty nice step up, but the cost is considerably higher than the 14k50.

Yeah, it's a micro data-logger for someone based on an 18F14K50 and a microSD card. Not sure if it will become a product. I'll put a picture in another post since I can't figure out how to do it in a g+ reply.

So I made this VGA PCB and had Itead (in China) fab it along with six other designs. But this one never arrived (although the tracking said it was delivered on Oct 24th). Well, yesterday it showed up ... from Germany. I guess it was placed in the wrong package and the guy who got it looked up my company name and relayed it on to me. I guess I'll have to send Thorsten a free XuLA board to say thanks.

Wow that was remarkably kind of them to forward the package.

Yesterday was steak, but today's breakfast is a toasted Spam sandwich. Let the good times roll!

Yes, I drop to assembly only when an inner loop demands it.
