I used to like this place, and then I got food poisoning from eating here. Never again.

I was looking for a quiet coffee shop to read and do some work, and I found it. Hidden behind Uchi, is this little gem with great coffee, friendly staff, and a quiet atmosphere to relax. They also have a wide range of teas, if you are that way inclined.

So there is nothing technically wrong with this hotel. It's a Courtyard Mariott, a little older than the average but you get exactly what you expect. The problem is not with the hotel, but the location. When I told my collegues I was staying near Hobby, they said I was likely to get shot there. The only reason you should stay here is if you're transiting in Hobby Airport and are only staying the night. Even then, if you should aim to see more of the city so I suggest somewhere in the Galleria area.

Excellent food. It is great when it is quiet, but it never is.

This place is very highly rated, and there is a reason for it. The food and coffee is excellent, like other say you must try the kugelhopf. The side effect of having such fantastic food and drink is that this place is rediciously busy. If you're looking to have a quiet coffee and read the paper, then this is the wrong place for you. There is always a line, but if you are willing to wait it is definitely worth the effort.

You've had a hard days work. You want no nonsense. You just want a cool beer and a warm meal. This is the place for you. Nothing special, beers and food are average, but the free parking, casual relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make this place a gem. Whenever I'm in town, I always make a point to visit.
