I am reading +Stephen Waddington's recent post.
He offers some strong media brands as top publications The Financial Times, The New York Times, Le Monde and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
I looked them up on and note they are all in long term decline.
How long can they retain brand value as they become less and less relevant to their core online readership?

This doesn't account for the audiences that media organisations are building via other channels such as apps, but its an issue that will take a generation to work through.
A generation is a long time. I gree there are other outlts. The will have to be good to avoid the HMV scenario.
HMV took 15 years to fail. I think these changes take generations rather than years.
