I was learning about AngularFire today and created this small tic-tac-toe app as an exercise. Just publishing it here in case it's useful to anyone.

Acting like that might be why they survive...I bet he had a nice snake meat supper when he figured out it wasn't going to bite him back.

I'm still getting the hang of using $http in services to return data. I am creating a simple ionicframework/cordova app as a learning experince. I am trying to make a $http call in the service and populate a variable that I can then use without making further calls to the service. If I populate the variable with an array of js objects, it works fine. When I try to use $http, I can't seem to get the job done. Please see the gist for code.

I would rather not return a promise to the controller if I don't have to. I'd like this to all be handled in the service, if that's possible.

Not sure if this is the best, but I solved it by using a promise to assign the array in the service and then returned the promise to the controller and used it there as well. I would appreciate it if anyone knows of a cleaner way to do it.

So far so good. I was using 4.3 from aokp.com for several days, and it was eating my battery for lunch. Kitkat from Cyanogen seems to be more in line with what I am used to. A full day and sometimes all night. Not a big interface difference, for sure.

Hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question. I have been using a Verizon Galaxy Nexus for a couple of years. My contract is up in December. I have read the ad nauseum posts about getting away from big V if you want to use Nexus phones, or have better choice in general. I know this, I don't deny it, but I will be sticking with V for personal reasons.

One question however. I am really enjoying the photosphere ability on the Galaxy Nexus. Is photosphere available on non nexus phones? Does it work OK on them? When I get a new phone, I'll most likely go straight to CM.

Dr Tidwell is the best dentist I've ever had. I at one point moved insurance providers so I could keep him. He is very friendly, as is his staff. Great service, I always feel important.
