Why do people believe in God?  Studies suggests:

1) Atheism is more likely in individuals who scored higher on analytical, reasoned forms of intelligence. However, this correlation could be caused by an individual's need to reject convention.

2) Belief in God is related to a) need for control, b) to cope with death, c) suffering, d) a need for justice, and e) experiential, or “gut” feeling

3) Byproduct of neurology such that the mind is primed; predisposition of cognitive tendencies such as the search for meaning and belief in the supernatural; and a pro-societal mechanism to establish community

Ted Koppel's last words and especially his last action was priceless in this video clip.
While appearing on Bill O' Reilly's show, Ted Koppel blasts Fox for not being a true news network and brands them a business -- nothing more, nothing less.

Intolerance OF intolerance is the only way to stop it.
Or, as the Desmond Tutu stated it: If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

This myth–that separation of church and state is a modern invention created by communists/liberals/atheists and shoved down the throats of a Christian America until it forgot its theocratic roots–is a popular one on the right, perhaps the defining myth that created the modern conservative movement.

They snuck this in while the rest of us were up in arms against Creationism in classroom. Bastards.
For the first time in more than a decade, the Texas State Board of Education has adopted new social studies textbooks. But the process came with a few hiccups.

Children Exposed To Religion Have Difficulty Distinguishing Fact From Fiction, Study Finds

"Researchers presented 5- and 6-year-old children from both public and parochial schools with three different types of stories -- religious, fantastical and realistic –- in an effort to gauge how well they could identify narratives with impossible elements as fictional.

The study found that, of the 66 participants, children who went to church or were enrolled in a parochial school were significantly less able than secular children to identify supernatural elements, such as talking animals, as fictional."
Young children who are exposed to religion have a hard time differentiating between fact and fiction, according to a new study published in the July issue of Cognitive Science. Researchers presented 5- and 6-year-old children from both public and ...
