Another article about biotechnology doesn't mention I PREDICTED THIS IN DETAIL 8 YEARS AGO. #nahnotbitter #okalittle
Read about the pioneers of our “post-human” future and see how they're implanting technology into their bodies and brains.

My Galaxy S5 just auto-corrected "mofo" to "Monfort." Short for... monther forter?

I also have the S5 and had to stop the auto-correct. Just too time consuming to correct the "corrections". Guess I'll just have to deal with my own typos.

It's bad enough to call a company and get put on hold. But now they call ME and put me on hold. Seriously, I answer the phone and am instantly told to wait for the next representative. WTF?

much of the service industry work is soul-crushing and mundane. there's little skill required for little pay. i feel bad for people w/ families who need any money one can find.

Dear almost everyone who's tweeted about #MichaelBrown, on both sides: you know you're not actually helping, don't you?

Of course it helps. The only way this will get dealt with is if quite a lot of noise is made.

Here's an easy test, evangelical conservatives. Do you look like your parents? Great. Do you look EXACTLY like your parents? No? Terrific, then you believe in evolution. Case closed. DONE.

I try very hard not to be a hater. In fact, I tend to prefer discussions with people I strongly disagree with much more than I like people preaching to the choir. Just a personality quirk, I guess.

Your questions on evolution have been asked and answered many times. (Not by me, of course, I'm definitely a layman in these things.) I recommend an article in Scientific American which explains the scientific positions on the typical questions asked by creationists very succinctly, and without too much condescension once you get past the opening paragraphs: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/15-answers-to-creationist/

One thing I do feel important to point out is that evolution is not necessarily incompatible with a belief in God or the Bible. I don't happen to believe in either, but many, many scientists do. (Darwin himself was quite the believer.)

The biggest unanswered question about the #StarWarsEpisodeVII cast: is the "Star Wars Kid" finally getting a much-deserved film cameo? Come on, JJ Abrams, do the right thing.

Introduction
David Louis Edelman is a science fiction novelist, blogger, and web programmer. Critics have described his books as "Dune meets The Wall Street Journal," "Boston Legal meets The Matrix," and "The Matrix meets Wall Street." His first book, Infoquake, was nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best Novel and named Barnes & Noble’s Top SF Novel of 2006. His second book, MultiReal, was called one of the top SF novels of 2008 by io9, Pat's Fantasy Hotlist and SFFWorld. He was a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Science Fiction Writer for 2008. His latest novel, Geosynchron, the last novel in the Jump 225 Trilogy, was published in February 2010 by Pyr. Locus magazine called the book "a seminal novel of 21st century SF," and the book made top 10 lists from Barnes & Noble and SFFWorld, among others. In addition to writing novels, Edelman has programmed websites for the U.S. Army, the Jesuits and Rolls-Royce; taught software to the U.S. Congress and the World Bank; written articles for the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun; and directed the marketing departments of biometric and e-commerce companies.
