Brewed up a #homebrew Mild Ale today. Refractometer says the OG is 1.030. Pitched some Notty, so it should be able to get a decent fermentation.

That's what I'm aiming for. High flavor, low alcohol. ☺

Getting ready to finally keg my #homebrew Chocolate Chip Cookies and Milk Stout "I am Santa Claus Too"

The second addition of flavorings was in 2 weeks longer than I had planned, but I'll roll with it. At least it doesn't smell sour. :-)

+Mike Cameron it smells a little strange, but I think that's my mind playing tricks on me, getting confused with the smell of the sour batch.

The small taste was ok. Needs to carb up, then I'll give it a good "taste".

Adding cocoa, vanilla, lactose, and spices to my #homebrew with 1 week left in the fermenter.

Boiling the mixture before adding it this time. :-)

Friday, that's an odd day for a beer fest. Sorry to hear you have to miss it.

If I were doing 5 gallon BIAB, I would want a 10-11 gallon kettle - that would handle almost any recipe I could want.  Even with this relatively large beer, my 4 gallon kettle was enough for a 2.5 gallon batch.  However, keep in mind that the less headspace in the mash, the easier to hold temps.

FWIW, I did 5gal BIAB in a 30qt kettle; I just had to 'dunk sparge' or top up for the boil sometimes.

The kids' keg of homemade root beer just kicked. As for me, I'm enjoying a #homebrew Belgian Golden Strong ale.

Got some chill haze going on here, I presume.

#homebrew boil is almost done. Everything going according to plan, from mash temp to Irish Moss rehydration. \m/

Yeah, I still have pressure today! Though the sour is still sour (not like I thought that would change...)

Next batch, I'm going to try the same stout recipe; I'm gonna get this!

Undeterred by my recent #homebrew problems, I'm going to brew a Belgian Golden Strong this weekend.

I also picked up some keg lube at the homebrew store, so may go get more CO2 and try to find the leak(s) as well.
