Digital Decrepitude and the Folly of Human Behavior

Just a quick set of thoughts about human nature. #PolicyZ
Removed from organic decaying processes, the only ruins in this world, including simulacrum of piles of dirt and construction vehicles, are ones that have been deliberately built and placed there by a designer. But despite its empty spaces, the world still feels full of possibility, ...

File this one under "memories."

My mother worked here-- at the post office in downtown-ish Colorado Springs-- when I was a kid. I used to love this building. In particular, I used to love the idea of finding my way to the roof since it looked like a giant fortress up there.

The Arrow Workout
No self-respecting super hero exercise routine is complete without a “to failure” set of exercises. Unless you want to “fail your city” you’d best be prepared to take your fitness to a new level. To use the bow and arrow effectively, with lethal precision, you need terrific upper body strength and muscle control. These are exercises designed to give you that kind of strength and control.

What it works: quads, calves, abs, shoulders, triceps, biceps, pecs, deltoids, lats

Tip: If you don’t own a pull-up bar you can always get creative with door frames, stairways, all kinds of beams and playground equipment. As long as you can grab something and pull yourself up – it’ll do. Make sure it’s something stable, though.

Don't think I'll be going to India this year for iMME. Strangely disappointed by that.

Kolkata is an addictive place. Not a pleasant place-- it's loud and smelly and impossible to walk around with anonymity. The police and military presence are stifling. The poverty is oppressive.

I hate getting in and out of the country and the show is much longer than it needs to be.

And, still...

Definitely go. That's not cheesy at all-- loads of fun and a good way to experience the place.

The small shop doesn't look like much, but I've bought flowers for my wife here three times and been quite happy with the results. The quality of the flowers has been top notch each time and the arrangements have been excellent. In fact, the highest compliment that I can pay is this: my wife has absolutely loved her flowers. The prices tend to be on the high side, but the florist has been happy to tailor the results to a price range that suits me and she has always been friendly about taking my vague directions and finding just enough inspiration to give us beautiful arrangements.

Very good food. I haven't been there for the buffet, but I have been there a few times for dinner. The staff are all very friendly, the restaurant is decorated quite nicely, and the food was very good. We've ordered a selection of mostly vegetarian items and found everything to be richly flavorful and fresh. Our selection included the samosas, Kerala fish curry, paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, egg kothu parotta, and masala egg bonda. I'm sure there have been a few other items in there as well and I've never had bad food from them.

Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. While the place isn't as big as some of the larger Denver area liquor stores, it does have a reasonably broad selection.
