NEW BLOG POST! April weigh-in results and workout progress report! #WeightLoss
I've settled into a routine where I only do weigh-ins once a month. If I do them more frequently, I start to obsess over the numbers and I don't need that particular obsession in my life. If I do t...

Need a healthy, easy #recipe for this weekend? Look no further. This one, for Brussels Sprouts with Carrots and Raisins, involves Brussels sprouts, carrots AND raisins. Go figure.
I recently had a wonderful meal at a restaurant, including a great side dish of Brussels sprouts with grapes. It was delicious. I wanted to recreate that dish at home the other day, but I was fresh...

NEW BLOG POST! I've signed up for three more stair races, including one at One World Trade Center in Manhattan. This race supports an amazing 9/11 #charity that makes me tear up, so please consider donating so that I can compete. Lots more info below, and a direct link to my fundraising page is in the first comment. THANKS!
My recent race in the Aon Center in Los Angeles was my sixth stair race of 2015. I haven't mentioned any other races, but it turns out... I've been keeping a few secrets. I've actually signed up fo...

What an exciting weekend. A momentous weekend. A milestone weekend. I competed in my 20th stair race! It was the American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb in Los Angeles, in the Aon Center, w...

Yours truly is quoted in this #Sonima article! It's a good read, about the connection between exercise and letting go of stress, anger, frustration, and whatever else is bottled up inside.
An emotionally cathartic workout can serve as a healthy way to unload stress, process deep emotions, and emerge more balanced and self-aware.

NEW BLOG POST An explosion of #photos from the last week... food I ate... exercise... dining out... it's all here!
I wasn't super prolific on the blog last week, but that doesn't mean I wasn't keeping busy and staying (mostly) on program. I kept my camera handy and captured lots of fun moments. Some of these ph...

NEW BLOG POST: I've now completed over 1,500 miles of cardio in less than two years. Which begs the question: HOW FAR IS 1,500 MILES? Short answer: From Los Angeles to Lincoln, Nebraska. (!) Long answer: Click the link for more maps and details!
Put your nerd hats on, folks, because this post is filled with evidence of my nerdiness. (I never take my nerd hat off, by the way.) Last week, when I was having a hard time, I promised myself that...

I called Pioneer Plumbing in a pinch - my kitchen sink wouldn't drain - and they had someone knocking on my door an hour later. Justin, my plumber, was professional, helpful, and informative, and he cleared the blockage - although it was harder than he was anticipating. Because of the prompt visit and the satisfactory results, I'd recommend Pioneer Plumbing.
