Portrait of a Renaissance Woman: This image comes from an editorial I shot in July 2015 and published in the September 2015 print and digital editions of Féroce Magazine. The editorial, titled Renaissance Reloaded, begins on page 10 of the print edition.

The lovely model chosen for the project is Ayelet Zari. The stylist was Nicola Ifill.

For my friends who ride, and through whom I ride vicariously. Thanks Tony and Tasha.

Riding through the desert
Rock walls rise to catch our sound,
Captured by a thunder,
reflecting off the ground.
Chased by a shadow,
one past cast by two.
Running to a freedom,
known by just a few.
Our souls are united
From everywhere to anywhere
We fly upon the ground ..
Rolling thunder...Sunset bound!

Fashion Modeling Meets Fashion Photography - Trinidad & Tobago, September 12-13.

At a prime location in Tobago’s Lowlands, The Magdalena Gand Beach resort overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The seascape is spectacular. The landscape is magnificent. There is no better place to be inspired as a photographer or model to shoot a portfolio building collection. California fashion/portrait photographer David Fraser and fashion model/stylist Nicola Ifill will bring their 2-day workshop, “Fashion Modeling Meets Fashion Photography” to the Magdalena Grand on September 12 & 13, 2015.

On Saturday, September 12, a full-day workshop is offered for aspiring models. Application of basic makeup, styling a personal wardrobe, fashion posing and more will be covered. Opportunities will abound to shoot with photographers as well. On Sunday, September 13, a full-day workshop is offered for photographers interested in creating publication-ready fashion portfolios. Lighting, composition, publication techniques and more will be covered. Photographers will have many opportunities to shoot with models across various areas of the beautiful resort.

In Trinidad & Tobago, call 868-489-6016 for additional information. You may also call presenters directly in California at 925-252-5164.  Payment options include credit cards (online), Republic Bank deposits, or cash to local promoters in Trinidad or Tobago. Space is limited. Register today to secure your place by following this link: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/fashion-modeling-meets-fashion-photography-tickets-18012924141

I am now desperately playing catch up on processing July 2015 images as we prepare to head back to the Caribbean in a few weeks for our September "Fashion Models meet Fashion Photographers" workshop in beautiful Trinidad & Tobago. My co-presenter is San Francisco based published model/stylist, Nicola Ifill. Here's one from a project I shot with her a couple weeks ago in New York.

And the new Nikkor lenses have been announced. It looks like $2,400 for the new 24-70 f/2.8 VR.
Nikon officially announced three new full frame lenses for professional and enthusiast photographers.

Really need to look at the new 24-70/2.8 VR. I still have the original 28-70/2.8 AF-S from the early 2000's. My D800 would be ever so grateful to use this new model.

If you've been following my work, you have seen publications of my previous projects with the incomparable Cassandra Sawyer of Natural Fitness Mom. The most recent would have been in Beauty, Fitness, and Wellness for Women (BFW Magazine).

This is from a new project we recently completed with the award-winning body builder and fitness guru.

Thanks to my colleagues, Jason Wood, who does a great job with our lighting, and Sparkle Ifill, who styles and coordinates most of our projects.

The Golden Sea: From my very first visit a few years ago, I have always been enchanted by the natural wonder that is this gem of the Eastern Caribbean, Tobago. Here's a capture of the Caribbean Sea from Coco Reef. Such moments are truly golden ones. And I am looking forward to heading back to Tobago in just a couple weeks for our "Fashion Modeling Meets Fashion Photography" workshop.
