I was invited to present a plenary talk about the role of empowerment evaluation in transforming the Flexnerian medical education model into a more clinically oriented educational model by the faculty of medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City. Dr. Alicia Hamui Sutton, Secretary of Medical Education extended the invitation along with Dr. Fernando Flores Hernandez, Mtro Juan Manuel Flores Ayala, among other colleagues. It was an honor to be invited to be a part of a team dedicated to transforming medical education in Mexico, based in large part on our work at Stanford University's School of Medicine.

Teaching empowerment evaluation course at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Great students, thoughtful and sensitive. Half the course will be face-to-face (from 9 am to 9 pm) and the other half online. We discussed student retention, a sense of belonging, and financial accessibly and the link between all of them.

David Fetterman performed Concerto in A minor by Vivaldi at the Pacific Piano School’s Spring Recital - May 5, 2018. Needless to say- he nailed it. To mix metaphors - he hit a home run. What a day! After so many weeks of practice (including a fair amount of nudging and reminding), today really paid off. What a relief and celebration of the spirit - all at the same time.

Smoking kills on average 1200 Americans every day. More people die every year from smoking than from murder, AIDS, suicide, drugs, car crashes, and alcohol, combined.
