Living and enjoying one day at a time...
Introduction
Born in the Ohio River city of Huntington, West Virginia and then grew up on both sides of the river.

Over the years my schooling, marriage and jobs took me to various parts of the the U.S.

For about twenty years I was an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church, and served several churches in north Indiana. Later, for various personal reasons (UMC system of uprooting families & spouses without consideration partly), I left the ministry and worked for the Aon Corporation and one of it's businesses in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This was a rewarding experience.

Moved from the city to a rural area for retirement. Live here with Marge, my wife of many years. I also live very near one of my daughters and 2 of my grandchildren.

Photography is at the top of my interests. Because of a back condition, I have gravitated toward smaller cameras of high quality. The one I'm enjoying most right now is the mirrorless Olympus Pen E-PL2. This camera and my favorite lens, a Zuiko 12mm (24mm equiv) f/2 prime lens are easy to carry and of excellent quality.

I use Adobe Lightroom 5 for organizing/processing and these days very seldom find myself in Photoshop.

Landscape photography is what I'm always looking for, but also enjoy street, urban, and classic automobiles.

A good print is what I see as being the final object of my photography. I personally want more than something that looks good on the web page. In fact, sometimes the two do not coincide. Something that looks good on the web, may make a poor print. And some that do not show up well on the web make excellent prints. Or at least this is what my experience has been. Epson printers are my personal choice. However sometimes I send some photos off to be printed.

In my reading time I study post-liberal and narrative theology, and wonder how I missed it in my earlier education.

My computer suddenly stopped one evening a couple of weeks ago. I do a lot of heavy photo processing with Adobe Lightroom, and have about 10,000 photos on that drive. Also I do some work designing forms, etc. in Adobe InDesign. In the past, luckily, I've been faithful about doing backups, especially on my photographs. Well, anyway, the hard drive was dead. Computer Oasis installed a new and better drive for me in a decent time period and a very affordable price. I'd much rather take it to a local business, not far from home, than a large nationwide chain which would have charged me MUCH more. I do recommend them.
