I had oatmeal for breakfast. Or did I?

What? I'm just asking questions.

It took longer than it should have, but I finally stumbled across a way to get an administrative command prompt from within a standard command prompt.
A non-elevated prompt creating an elevated prompt One of the minor annoyances of working in a Windows environment is that, though RunAs is a closer approximation of sudo than it ever was back in the days of Windows XP, it sti...

It only took 25 years, but it finally clicked for me. How long did it take you?

Not going to lie, I was planning on writing a very different article when I started. Turns out libertarians are actually pretty decent about viewing government workers as people, all things considered.

It's not done yet, but it's done enough to share. If you ever wanted to do "complex" math in Windows Batch Script using nothing but Windows Batch Script, I have good news... you're not the only one that's insane.

Sample output from MathLibrary.cmd A while back, I started working on writing Project Euler scripts using Windows Batch Script. I didn't get very far before I ran into some pretty clear limitations with my chosen development ...

If you ever had someone tell you that Windows batch scripting (pre-PowerShell) was bad... they weren't wrong. Baffling syntax parsing, an utter lack of control structures, the bolt-on nature of Delayed Expansion, and stunningly bad error processing are just the start of the woes of a serious batch scripter.

For the past few weeks, I haven't been posting much because my attention has been diverted elsewhere. The picture above is a little sneak preview of what I've been working on, which is related to my previous efforts in solvin...

I wasn't sure what to expect from #LPEX when it was first pitched to me, but it's living up to its billing so far. Come on down!
Now underway at a splashy hotel in the glittering city of Las Vegas: The Libertarian Political Expo — LPEX — a fierce four-day event meant to ramp up the libertarian skill set in a complicated political marketplace.

We usually keep the out-of-focus meatloaf and hash browns in the back.

I enjoy a good bit of politics-fueled clickbait as much as the next guy, but can we leave "Friends" out of it? Please?

This little pile of obnoxiousness rendered several of our campus computer labs near-worthless by hosing UAC, breaking the USB mass storage driver, and killing VirtualBox. Uninstall it if you haven't already done so.
That's not the only bad patch in yesterday's release: There's also an easily fixed error that prevents KB 3002339 from installing
