ICE Chapters  -

Join the Northern Illinois Computing Educators (NICE) for a panel and workshop on Professional Development and Professional Learning Networks. We’ll first hear from various NICE members about innovative ways to deliver PD in local schools. This includes: gamification, Google+ Communities, flipped learning, badges, and more. Then, we’ll let you break into groups or go solo as you apply what you hear to your own education environment.  Design your own PD, Start your own Community, or Build your PLN.  We’ll share out and everyone will leave on solid footing and with some momentum going forward. RSVP via the link below.  See you there!

All smooth for 600+ here taking ELA - Grade 9 - EOY  on Chromebooks.  For test admins, remind them to change the dropdown to EOY from PBA as we had many default to PBA and they couldn't see the sessions.  Other than that, very minimal tech issues.

Did both in one day, so minimal issues when they submitted their final answers today.  Some rooms forgot to tell them to do so, so we had to resume and they had to log back in.

Technical Issues  -

Error code 2008 strikes again! This time, we used a cart that was on Beta channel (we got an email from Google saying that more devices needed to be on Beta...thanks....) and received "Low Memory Issue - 2008".  So...keep 'em on Stable, folks.  Probably will restrict to v40 as well.

Technical Issues  -

We had a trial for Grade 9 ELA for 50+ students across several periods on Tuesday.  Will do 200+ on Thursday with Grade 9 Algebra.  Using Chromebooks - only issue was an error code (2008) - low memory.  We determined that it was resolved by updating the OS to v40. A few that had issues were all on v39.  In case you run into this for your trials.  Also, don't forget to choose PARCC training for your trials...

Yes, we couldn't find it in the Error Codes list, but I can confirm that it resolved the issue.  Haven't seen the code in the last 100+ devices that have gone through testing.
