I have just listened to the first Chewing Gum for the Ear podcast (I'm always about 2 weeks behind in my listening) and can I say how much I enjoyed it. My musical taste seems to follow more Ted than Steve, but listening to Steve talking about the Hawkwind and Motorhead albums has made me want to seek these out for a listen.
Great work lads.

Recently brought this after owning all the original albums 40 years ago. Budgie were such a great band and I am enjoying listening to them again. I believe the singer Burke Shelly is still gigging.

Still love this phone, if they made a 2016 model with faster cpu and more memory, I would buy one tomorrow

On a whim I ordered a Umi Hammer S yesterday, at £95 I fully understand its limitations but if you believe the reviews and the specs of the phone, its sounds too good to be real.

Built to compete with the Motorola Force for toughness at the same time looking like a premium HTC, with USB C port and finger print unlocking.

I will put a small review up when it arrives and I have had a chance to use it.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience with Umi phones.

Looking back through my photo collection has made me realise something that I cannot really explain. Like many here I change my phones on a regular cycle, mainly switching between an iPhone and the current Xperia Z model as I am a big fan of Sony hardware and my photo timeline shows the jockeying between the two smartphone makers.
What struck me was the photos taken with the Sony devices were generally more interesting and a lot more creative than the pictures took with the iOS devices.
This was not something that I was conscience doing but all the images from a Z1 too my Z3 were a lot better as a photo than any of the iPhones, it appeared that when I took a photo with the iPhone it was just because I had to take a picture a that moment and not because I wanted to use the smartphone as a camera.
As I said, I have no definite answer to why, just thought it was an interesting point and wondered if others found a particular smartphone inspired them to take better pictures

Why Windows Phone won't work for me
I have just been catching up with the excellent Phones Show Chat podcast with +Ted Salmon and +Steve Litchfield where the subject of the show was Windows Phone. As someone who has worked as an IT Manger for the last 26 years, I have always been in a Windows environment at desktop and server level, actually preferring it to Mac OS, so I would love to have the complete synchronised world of Windows, but for me there is one failing.
I have an Android phone which syncs nicely with Chrome on my laptop and home PC and all my information can be accessed at work or any other PC by signing in to Chrome.
My work Pc running Windows 8.1 is signed in with my work email and my home PC is signed in with my personal email, so there is no synchronisation between the two.
Until Microsoft stop forcing a @live login to use Windows 8.1 it will never be as convenient as Googles solution.
