Looking back through my photo collection has made me realise something that I cannot really explain. Like many here I change my phones on a regular cycle, mainly switching between an iPhone and the current Xperia Z model as I am a big fan of Sony hardware and my photo timeline shows the jockeying between the two smartphone makers.
What struck me was the photos taken with the Sony devices were generally more interesting and a lot more creative than the pictures took with the iOS devices.
This was not something that I was conscience doing but all the images from a Z1 too my Z3 were a lot better as a photo than any of the iPhones, it appeared that when I took a photo with the iPhone it was just because I had to take a picture a that moment and not because I wanted to use the smartphone as a camera.
As I said, I have no definite answer to why, just thought it was an interesting point and wondered if others found a particular smartphone inspired them to take better pictures

+Gavin Fabiani-Laymond my favourite photos are definitely with the 1520. Hardware, software and using it to take more considered photos all help!

Why Windows Phone won't work for me
I have just been catching up with the excellent Phones Show Chat podcast with +Ted Salmon and +Steve Litchfield where the subject of the show was Windows Phone. As someone who has worked as an IT Manger for the last 26 years, I have always been in a Windows environment at desktop and server level, actually preferring it to Mac OS, so I would love to have the complete synchronised world of Windows, but for me there is one failing.
I have an Android phone which syncs nicely with Chrome on my laptop and home PC and all my information can be accessed at work or any other PC by signing in to Chrome.
My work Pc running Windows 8.1 is signed in with my work email and my home PC is signed in with my personal email, so there is no synchronisation between the two.
Until Microsoft stop forcing a @live login to use Windows 8.1 it will never be as convenient as Googles solution.

+David Burns I understand. I'm in an interesting situation in that previously I had active sync on my work account and could access it on any device (decent BYOD policy). Now however I can't readily access my work account outside the office. Which on the plus side does help the work /life balance!

Finally got my Xperia Active, what a breath of fresh air, quick, and so "just right in the hand" small screen is not a problem (so far) and if I was to do an unboxing video it would take a time due to the extras in the box, Active view, arm band, sports ear buds, etc. Very solid feel, very LOUD, this is the perfect pub phone (Tim) and I think this is the perfect phone. I still have my N9 but cannot justify taking my sim out of a phone that can handle any thing that I want from a day to day phone like the Xperia Active, my week consists of walking the dog, work office and hands on IT (crawling under desks), supporting my son on a wet, cold football field and once a month walking (slowly) up a hill, this phone ticks all the boxes ..... oh did I mentions it is fast for a 1GHz processor.

Haven't done any testing myself but there is plenty of people on you tube testing its waterproof properties, the bungs covering the ports are a better fit and seem more substantial than those on the Defy I had.
