I’m working on several projects I find very exciting, and have the opportunity to hire undergrad and grad interns for summer 2013. Internships will work on projects related to:
* Automatic exploit generation
* Large-scale software checking
* Malware analysis
I’m looking for students with x86 and basic exploitation experience (e.g., through hacking material or the first 3 chapters of “Computer Systems: A Programmer's Perspective”) and/or functional programming experience (we use OCaml extensively).
Internships are paid. While I can’t offer industry salaries, there are several benefits to CMU. Interns will work closely with my PhD students and me, with a primary goal on working together to have publishable results. I’m happy to write a recommendation letter for anyone who does well. I also am the faculty sponsor for the hacking group “PPP”, which is currently ranked very highly; interns will have an opportunity to participate with the team. CMU in general is a great place to do research, and Pittsburgh is very nice in the summer.
Anyone interested should send their CV/Resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
