By Jonathan Kolby It all started as an idea one afternoon seven years ago.  Having recently learned about the devastating amphibian chytrid fungus (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, or Bd) that was spreading globally and causing irreparable damage to the world’s amphibian biodiversity, I felt there must be something more I could personally do to help save the…

I've been experimenting with using Google Keep to write a simple daily to do list each day.
Just seen this, which suggests it will have a better experience (ticking off list items moves them to the bottom of the list).
Personally, I love Evernote for reference, but find it a bit heavy for quick to-dos. It just feels like too much friction.

Google Keep just got a little easier. If you add new images with text in Keep, search now finds printed text within those image so you can find what you're looking for even quicker. A new 'Trash' view in your Keep drawer comes in handy in case you delete something by mistake (where you'll now have an extra 7 days before it's permanently gone). And for the list-makers, your checked items now automatically move to the bottom of your lists so you can easily see what still needs to get done.

Try Keep today on the web (http://goo.gl/L7FdQJ), on Android (http://goo.gl/9VQ8Uv) and on Chrome (http://goo.gl/LYctiG).

+Andrew Crow I use both. I wouldn't really see it so much as a question of choosing between the two, but more about them acting in complementary ways. In my opinion, Evernote is much more effective as a reference system because of tagging and notebook organisation. Keep is good as an equivalent to post it notes.
I agree that not having an iOS naive client is a bit of a major gap for Keep though.

Looks like a really interesting idea. Fits all with my current philosophy of trying to focus on tasks one day at a time.
I would love to see a mobile version. Especially an android dash widget.

NASA Unveils Stunning New Milky Way Portrait
Talk about an out-of-this-world map! NASA has unveiled a stunning new clickable panoramic portrait of our home galaxy, the Milky Way. The zoomable, 360-degree view was constructed from more than two million infrared snapshots taken over the past ten years by NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope. “If we actually printed this out, we’d need a billboard…

This looks like the sort of thing a productivity community might enjoy. A little 10 question quiz. And the background to the app sounds intriguing.
