Part of the O'Callaghan Hotel Group, the Davenport Hotel is  a quality 4 star hotel in a prime downtown location in Dublin city centre.  Located beside the National Gallery, Government Buildings & Trinity College, the Davenport Hotel sits on the corner of Merrion Square and is within walking distance of the main attractions in Dublin, as well as being convenient to Dublin's business districts and the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD).

The building dates from 1863 and has a classical Italianate facade, an unusual style in the heart of Georgian Dublin.  Rooms are luxurious with polished wood and elegant touches such as cashmere throws.

Overall we had a very good experience at the Davenport. The reception people were very friendly and helpful in pointing us around Dublin and the hotel itself is in very close proximity to downtown, including being right on the hop-on hop-off bus tours. The building itself has old charm and is very well maintained. The rooms were about what you'd expect in an Irish hotel, if not a touch bigger. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean and big enough. The room also had AC, which is rare in Ireland. We also had the bed and breakfast option and the morning buffet was one of the better spreads we had. We did not use the bar but did get ice from it a few times. The bartenders were very friendly as well and the bar appeared to have a good selection. Note that we did not have a car in Dublin and I recommend you do the same. The parking is limited and requires using a ramp a couple blocks down the street, but the mess of streets in Dublin would make that a not-so-fun experience. Regardless, if do want a car there is at least parking available. Certainly a good experience and the Davenport is a hotel I can highly recommend.

This hotel was arranged for us via a tour company, so we did not know what to expect, nor can we address the room rates. We were very pleasantly surprised to say the least. This is a beautiful old hotel, Just what we wanted in Dublin. It is clean and well maintained, beds very comfortable and staff extremely welcoming and helpful.

Nice hotel. Great location. Ok service. Great pub across the street: the Ginger Man. Parking is odd (down the street at some private garage but not too far).

really nice hotel, the whole place is traditional with loads of wooden chairs, desks etc (some would call it dated, but it adds to the charm) the rooms are a good size with huge beds, the wifi works really well in the rooms and public areas.

This hotel was very elegant, the service was okay, very pricey but the overall experience was great. The breakfast is not complimentary with your stay which I was not a fan of considering the price, close to everything downtown.
