I'm looking to talk with an architect who might be willing to help us cost out a new building at Mosaic.  This is first-contact sort of conversations.  Anyone in our network have some time to sit down and help with moving from Programming to Costing?  May result in a full hire, but we're exploring right now.

Afternoon Music Coffee Break

The kids (and a couple other vectors) have gotten me hooked on Postmodern Jukebox.  Not only is Scott Bradlee a phenomenal piano player, but this cover of Royals has to be one of the best adaptations I've ever heard.  Not only are the musicians brilliant, and the production well done, but they have Puddles (from +PuddlesPityParty) singing the lead.  Yes, a 6'8" clown with a voice like Tom Jones.

Hey everyone, just sending this around again.  This space has been great for me, and they're doing good work - making a community run workshop and space.  The new location is awesome, but we could use a little help getting it outfitted.  Even a small contribution will help.

Thanks!

Whelp.  Was enjoying the nice reviews of the Galaxy Edge, and thought maybe Samsung had learned to do the right thing.

NOPE!

"On Monday, a Samsung spokeswoman clarified in an email to Computerworld that Samsung's pre-installed apps can be disabled on both the S6 and the Edge but cannot be uninstalled. "
Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Edge smartphones, which arrive in stores Friday, have received mostly positive reviews from critics, largely for superior styling and their metal and glass construction.

Well - still no new Samsung for me. Maybe someday, if they ever learn that if I buy an expensive phone, it's mine, not theirs.

I think I geek-overloaded this weekend.  THere must be some award for this.
* Got my new Floppy EMU controller from Big Mess O Wires.  This little board allowed my old Mac Plus to come up and use any disk image I had on an SD card.  I was happily playing Dark Castle, Rogue, and fiddling with MacDraw on a 30 year old computer.
* Via the MakeIt Lab, rewired the old Parrot AR Drone 1.0 to use a new LiPo battery pack, and +Zach B-S and I got it up and flying.  The sensors on this thing are awesome.  You can interact with by touching or moving near it while it's hovering.
* Got an el cheapo 9" android tablet as a possible replacement for CONGO terminals.  It's got potential.  The price is right.  More evaluation necessary.
* While flying the QX Blade Nano drone around, I may have burnt one of the drive motors.  It's making a harsh buzzing noise.  Going to go to RCHover this week and see if I can get it fixed.
* HOPEFULLY my new 250mm drone frame comes in this week so I can have it assembled for the weekend.  Eeeee!

Total geek overload.  But was awesome.  And now, back to work!

Can someone explain to me why youtube posters 'double' their videos?  I've seen 4 videos in the last day that are, say, 8 minutes long, but are actually just the same 4minute video, shown twice.  WTF?

This was an awesome read.  I encourage folks to read through to the end.
What if I told that you could get wedding photos at a fraction of the cost that professionals will charge you, would you be interested in that? I bet you w

Tonight I was trying to explain to folks at Mosaic why I was attracted to drone racing, and used the Star Wars 'speeder' sequences as an example "That's what it's like..."

This is a great example video of flying racing drones in a forest.  Some great pilots here, and an absolutely beautiful setting.  This is what it's all about.

For +Ellen Seebacher +Tim Pierce +John Rosevear +Mike Gaisford and whomever else wants to watch.

Ask Dr Social Media...

If i wanted to quickly set up a website that would allow users to sign up for accounts and edit rows in a database (or create new ones), and also make sure they could only edit their own records, what tool would i use? Free preferably.

An open source or free service similar to quick base is really what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

So thats okay, but you can't come back later and edit your previous responses unless you save the URL after submitting the first form.   So I think I'll need to do something more complex, but it'll use the Forms a little bit.  Thanks though!

(Also, summaries are hard to publically view unless I share the entire spreadsheet I guess.  The default view is to group questions together, which is handy, but not what I need to do).
