"Pal O' Mine" is a peach flavored tobacco. The room note is of cookies, but the taste, while peachy, has an almost chemically taste to it. It's not bad, but not great either.

"Silk Road" replacement site absconds with $12 million worth of drug dealers' and buyers' bitcoins.
Over the past weekend, the massive online black market known as Evolution halted withdrawals of bitcoin from its market site, telling users that it was dealing with technical difficulties. Then on Tuesday evening, both its market and user forum went offline, with no opportunity for drug buyers and sellers to pull out the funds they had stored in their Evolution accounts. The result has been a wave of panic that's shaken the online black market ec...

You know what I hate about the internet?  I can't tell if this is real or fake:  Bitcoin Police Department: http://btcpd.com/

Is Reddit making fun of this dude's site, or is that a parody site to make fun of people who love bitcoin's non central owners, but bitch when no one can recover for their stolen items?

More bad math problems from my son's homework.

#3 is actually true.  And it's the best kind of true: technically true.  However, he's gotten used to these questions being ambiguous, so he went with False.

#4 is a different matter.  The answer is B (though you could argue C, or even D).  His teacher marked it wrong so he changed it to A, like a sucker.  The instructions tell you to circle a quadrilateral.  That means that A is the only absolutely wrong answer since it isn't a fucking quadrilateral.

Of course I would have marked him wrong for circling the letter B instead of the polygon, because I'm an asshole.

Perhaps you should get your teaching license. You would do a better job here.

Accuracy matters in STEM. Ambiguousness will get you in trouble and at worst, fired. "I thought you said I could pass in a linked list, not that I must pass in a linked list."

Early St Patty's Day. Breaking in a brand new Peterson St Patrick's Day 2015 pot with the similarly named tobacco. It's a nice berry flavored blend.

I keep telling myself I'm gonna stop buying briars and stick to cobs, but they make these beautiful pipes and I can't help myself. :-/

I was posting this to whine about my annoyance with the USPS—I mean, it was in Columbia ( ~ 70mi. away from me) and they decided to send it to Chicago for some reason—but really I'm amazed at how well they actually do their job and how rare this kind of thing is for me.

I could have shipped UPS, but for in-state delivery USPS is usually faster. And since they treat Saturday as a business day (unlike common parcel carriers) it would have been here a day earlier than UPS (well, had it not mysteriously been sent to Chicago).

Also, their tracking has gotten much better recently.  A few years ago their tracking was only useful for delivery confirmations—the updates didn't populate until long after it was delivered.  Now they're only one or two hours behind and getting better.

So, I guess, good job USPS.  Now please stop sending my stuff on unnecessary routes.

I have also had this weird experience, as they are shipped to Memphis from Chicago to be sent to me.

So I'm playing episode 2 of Life Is Strange and I've got a big issue with the game.

Every single dude in the game is a creepy weirdo.  That's not what I have a problem with, though.  My problem is that the game seems to be encouraging me to not blow these guys off, and to engage them and pretend that they aren't making me uncomfortable.

The latest instance of this is when Warren, the awkward guy-"friend" who is crushing on my character, asks me to go watch a movie marathon without actually indicating that he wants to go on a date with me.

If I choose yes, he gets excited and says, "That was easier than I thought!" because he thinks I somehow just agreed to a romantic date with him. But If I choose no, my character doesn't actually say no.  It's more of a "Sorry, but I've got too much on my mind right now" answer that is totally leading him on.   I want a third answer which is, "Sorry, Warren, I know you have romantic feelings for me, but like every other dude in this game, you seem a bit 'date-rapey' to me.  Now please go away, while I try to find a fake ID and the nearest casino so I can use my time-reversing super-powers for good."

Sounds like these games trying to social engineer dudes to treat women better. Was that the primary goal, or just a nice to have?

It's finally starting to get nice outside here in rural South Carolina. Smoking some McClelland Holiday Spirit 2014.
I think the Holiday Spirit blend is my favorite aromatic since I first tried it in 2011. I pick up several cans of this each winter season.

The Aquaman costume comment had me on the floor.  "It's functional!"

I love when she does this. The Superman + Corn series was intense. Hawkeye's prefered costume colours. Why women can't write comics (because we keep trying to put sandwiches in the plastic comic pouches)....

Popped open a fresh tin of Orlik Golden Sliced tonight. Nothing quite like that Virginia flavor of sweet hay.
