Strong slide deck for associations that aren't getting the traction they expected through their social platforms.

Sharing this slide deck from @Kivi Leroux Miller because it is just that darn good.

I haven't been spending much time here on G+. Saw this post today that predicts eventual demise. If these numbers are true, I'd have to agree. Engaged users are the only measure of success in my mind. What's your take?

Love these creative concepts from +Kim Skildum-Reid on leveraging sponsorship.
I'm Kim Skildum-Reid, I've been doing sponsorship for about twenty-six or so years, and I really love it. I'm also never short of an opinion, idea, story, or rant, so the fact that I have ...

Over on the MeCo listserve, a moderator asked what the ideal RFP is. Here's my response:

A genuine opportunity delivered to a very limited playing field, where the RFP initiator is transparent about their needs and wants, and is willing to invest the time with each RFP receiver to come to terms that are deal worthy for both sides.

Anything short of this qualifies you to be in government procurement or your job outsourced.

What would you add or change to this definition?

Need some help before Congress makes another bonehead move! Sign this petition and share with your network. The GSA meeting in Vegas in 2010 was a slap in the face to us tax paying citizens.

Bottom line, most meetings and conventions significantly drive major deal making and improve worker abilities and output. The GSA fiasco is an example of poor leadership and people not spending money like it was their own.

Our country would be so much better off with less regulations and more leaders making good decisions that drive the revenue side of the enterprise. Meetings and Conventions done right accelerate that better than any medium I know.

Sign this, share this and get on your soap box!

Thanks!

Dave
As engaged members of the meetings industry I'm sure you've followed the recent events and the continuing fallout of the General Services Administration (GSA) meeting audit. PCMA has been clos...

Read a pretty bizarre article in USA Today yesterday about how major companies are abandoning or looking to public social platforms instead. +Mitch Joel did a great job of setting things right! A good homebase that is regularly updated and allows for interaction is a very powerful weapon...don't you think?
Somebody had to say it. There was another "Blogging is dead" news item that crept out of USA Today today titled, More companies quit blogging, go with Facebook instead. Here's what the a...

Most people in my tribe aren't bullish on G+ yet. The SEO benefits are hard to grasp/dispute for the non-techie. This post is helpful on that, don't you think?

Anyone shifting team conference calls to skype or G+ hangouts? Does it feel like time and outcomes are improved? I might have to start shaving more regularly!
