Wow... 652? I need to look into doing more with containers. This technology is amazing to me.
652 Linux containers running on a Laptop?  Are you kidding me??? A couple of weeks ago, at the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver, Canonical released the results of some scalability testing of Linux containers (LXC) managed by LXD...

Proud to have been involved in its production! (Although I wish work hadn't kept me so busy in the second half of the process.) Check it out!

"Creator Chris Carter finally given chance to explore nuances of the X-Files universe in ways not allowed by 10,000 minutes of television, two feature films, a spin-off series, and dozens of comic books."
After months of speculation, Fox has announced that it is bringing back its hit ’90s TV show The X-Files, about a team of FBI special agents investigating unsolved cases about strange and paranormal phenomena, for at least six new episodes...

Nicely done. If only we hadn't let him bat and let Matt Sczcur try to drive in one more run that inning, we might have won.

Today I had to blow away my home PC and reinstall. X-Files fans should get the reference. If you don't, go watch the episode "Kill Switch" - it's on Netflix and is definitely worth the hour to watch it.

Interested in setting up a ThinkUp instance? I used OpenShift - probably the easiest way to install and configure your own installation of ThinkUp.
I've been interested in setting up my own instance of the open-source social networking analysis tool ThinkUp for awhile now, but I have tried a few things without success: I have a shared hosting account with Dreamhost, and I tried...

FreeNAS system back up and running. All is well with the world. Based on what I can tell, one non-integrated USB chip on the motherboard has probably failed. That would explain the original boot drive corruption as well as why a two USBs with a fresh, pure image wouldn't boot on the same USB port, but boots just fine with the USB drive in a different port (not managed by the separate chip). And, better still, since it's ZFS, despite total data corruption on the boot drive, no loss of any important data - and even the settings were backed up. :-) Thanks, FreeNAS.

Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.

Career Specialist at Ashland University
Introduction
As a Career Specialist at Ashland University, I assist students in transitioning to their next destination. I share job search strategies, conduct mock interviews, assist with the graduate school search, help with drafting or revising resumes, and build relationships with those who recruit our students.

I am a recent graduate of Kent State University's postgraduate program in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel. I have worked in university admissions, international advising, residence life, and career development.

I enjoy learning, writing, music, travel, and language. I hope to continue lifelong learning and professional development throughout my career. I love music and hope to find a choir to join. I enjoy traveling - I have visited 26 of the United States and 6 other countries. I hope to improve in my language ability.

also a little bit nerdy (just a wee bit). I love technology, gadgets, and learning more about how to make them work for us.  And I love how shiny new things are. Ooh. You'll also probably see me share a little bit of one of my other big hobbies, anime! If you share some of these interests, please add me to your circles & we can geek out together.

Pleased to meet you!

I agree with the other reviews. Data cap is crippling and poorly thought out (It doesn't actually do anything to reduce bandwidth congestion on their network - in fact, that seems to have gotten worse.). Service is spotty and goes in and out. I had a more reliable internet connection when I lived in Bulgaria. The one good thing is there is no charge for service calls or sending out a technician - which I have needed to request often. But don't worry, they will nickel and dime you - with overage fees.
