"Of all the freaks and weirdos in this town, I'm not even in the top 10%". I loved that line.

Testing out the new Sony a7II, I am very impressed with the IBIS (in body image stabilization). I am now convinced that IBIS is really is a killer feature for gun and gun shooting.

Just got in the Team Rebel Design TRD BHPP-01 in for testing. Pistol grip 3-axis gimbal for about $500. I have high hopes.

+Dave Dugdale  It will be interesting to see what you come up with as well. In looking at samples of it in use at http://www.cnchelicopter.com/pre-order-beholder-trd-bhpp-3-axis-handhled-gimbal-pro-plus-for-bmpcc-sony-a7s-nex-5-6-7-pansonic-gh3-4-etc-camera/ it is quite bouncy in the walking portion. The part while driving in the vehicle was quite nice though.

As usual you are our "go to" guy on these things :)

I got the K1M partly because I got a good deal on eBay but also because the separate hotshot cable works better with a movcam cage.

Many people shooting M43 or the Black Magic Pocket camera have been waiting for this lens a long time because it is fast glass and it is really wide. I thought it was going to be more expensive, but the price seems reasonable. I plan on testing it when I have some free time.  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1031586-REG/olympus_7_14mm_f2_8_pro_m.html/BI/6499/KBID/7145

+Rebecca Armstrong The only digital cable that really matters is DVI-D for higher framerates. Some can't get past 60Hz at 1440p, but many can display at 120Hz.

There are some benefits to DP vs HDMI. DP supports freesync and g-sync, it has a slightly higher bandwidth, and has a locking mechanism built in.

Really though, you're right. A $3 cable is as good as a $100 cable. The beauty of HDMI is that the cable never changes, so there's no need to replace them.
