This Vic Reeves stat is one I quote often when talking - here +Nicola Ray talks about the dangers of how stats are used in #contentmarketing.

It really bugs me that many infographics or alerts about research don't reference the sample size or frame without which the stats are meaningless!

Hello Pete, Indeed - it isn't thanks for keeping us honest with your questioning approach. 

I think we'd need a range of eval techniques to prove/disprove this and simplicity is just one factor or course like all of these more functional factors from a usability study:

I've just been taking a look / installing the new #GoogleAnalytics plugin for Chrome - not brand new, but not many seem to know about it - just 60K downloads - it's worth knowing about since useful for showing to colleagues/clients how well key pages are working to get visitors on customer journeys.

How/when do you tend to use it?

Interesting case showing that mobile/tablet implementations can degrade RVP.
An eCommerce website split tested between their mobile website and desktop website for users coming from tablets. The test increased their revenue by 71.81%

How does your site rate for E-A-T? It needs to rate well if you're subject to Google's manual quality SEO assessment 

Shame no link given - I have seen previous ones and very interesting. 

The comments have discussion of secondary content - that is now more important for quality - it's really recommendations of related content - what site owners should be trying to do anyway.
Google has completely rewritten the Quality Ratings Guideline, the resource that their team of quality raters uses to rate websites for Google.
