Color Point Cloud Example

I've been continuing to work on my little tango scanner application. You point it around the room and hit the save button to save view/depth information and a color image. Those can be processed together to create a color point cloud.

The processing is done in python on my Linux laptop. The output file Stanford ply format, which can be read by meshlab. I usually run the app, take my scans, then connect the USB to my laptop, read the files off and play with them. It should be easy to run the python code and meshlab on the OS of your choice.

This isn't overly useful as a real application, but it has some example code, so I thought it might be worth sharing.

It's amazing how much sound Van Halen got out of four tracks on hit for teacher. This describes how the tracks were assembled and how they work together. It gave me a better appreciation of this piece and others.

YASA - Yet Another Scanner Application

I started writing some sample code to use the Project Tango tablet as a scanner. I modified PointCloudJava to collect the data sets, and then created python code on the host to process the data. It's pretty simple so far, but it's a start. Hopefully it's easy to read and understand.

It's on GitHub

if anyone wants to check it out and hack on it.

Google made a story from my Night on Broadway photos.

It was a blast seeing magic, burlesque, music, performance art and the inside of these amazing theaters. Bring back Broadway is trying to save them.

We had a great time at Los Angeles Night On Broadway.

Los Angeles is 7 years in to renovating it's Broadway. These are some amazing theaters, that they are trying to bring back to life.

We saw magic, street Shakespeare, Burgundy Bells Burlesque, and spent the most time at the Los Angeles theater watching WILDERBE. 4-5 hours wasn't enough to see all the cool events.
