I love them. Not only because the color makes it easy to find the right string, but because the coated strings last a long while. It's true, if you're using a sharp pick or a heavy attack, you could break through the coating under your pick the same day you put them on. But the coating is still there under your left hand, protecting the strings from the water and dirt of your fingers, and making it easy to slide and shift. I change these strings once every 2 months. I've found uncoated Ernie Ball strings and D'addario strings need to be changed after 3 weeks.
