Know how and practice on the water communications.  In an emergency getting it right will save time and can save lives.  Remember: "Safe Boating is No Accident".

Rob;

The video needs to be longer.  From what I have seen elsewhere it does look like a family boat.  Describe more and provide specific examples of this point.  By the way, you may wear the pants in the family but I know who the real (USCG) Captain is...
Best Regards;

Sean;

Looking at frame 1:29 it looks like this boat has the swing keel.  Is that correct ?

Why are there not more of these ?  Also, why do they, Catalina, not build a flush deck boat?

I like how encourages people to use their face and ears to feel the wind.  I'd add the back of your neck.  A follow up to this video would be to determine true wind, vs. relative wind, as you are docking the boat.

Paul;

Good pictures of the square top sail but not much else.  I'd like to know how well the little jib points to windward.  Also, with the big main is the boat unbalanced so that it will easily round up ? I think you could add some specifics.

This is the best description of this boat.  He identifies the weak points and then explains why these weaknesses are acceptable.  European style for a family.

Organizations like OWSA Oregon Women's Sailing Association need to support their professional women sailors.  But instead they expect the women Captains to donate their time and professional skills.  Frank Deford is correct.  Women need to support professional women athletes with their pocketbooks.

Commentator Frank Deford says female supporters will play a key role in sustaining enthusiasm for women's sports after an exciting U.S. Women's World Cup win.

This has made following the planets and stars really easy.  My other source is the U.S.Power Squadron Magazine Ensign.  It has a quarterly calendar so I can plan ahead then I use EarthSky.org on a weekly basis.
Watch for the next several days - starting on June 12, 2015 - as the dazzling planet Venus sweeps near the Beehive star cluster in evening twilight.

No, but I did check out Lake Pleasant during a weekday visit and the sailing facility was closed.   The 50 mile drive across Phoenix to get to Lake Pleasant is also a negative.  I am checking out sailing classes in July when we will be in Portland.

I like the pivoting helm.  It is a functional option as opposed to the dual helm or oversized helm found on other boats.

Barrett; I like how you show multiple versions of the Oceanis 35.  Can you redo this with more detail on the differences between the size of the 3 cabin vs 2 cabin version.  Also, highlight the variations of the cruising, and day sailing versions.  Also, if you could spend some time talking about the gear above decks.  Thanks.

Enough space for setting up a band with a bar and plenty of room for tables and a dance floor. Semi-enclosed patio out side with you need some fresh air and a breaks for the loud music.

The boats are in serviceable condition. The reason I give the Portland facility an Excellent rating is the interaction they (Josh Shenkman, Capt. D. Balmer, Capt. Rhys, Capt. Laura) create between members. They do a lot with a little. Best of all they get people learning to use the spinnaker as early as is safe. They take the mystique out it.
