The hearing aid might not be benefiting the child if it is not fitted correctly.  In order to fit the hearing aid correctly on infants and children the National Acoustic Laboratory (NAL) in Australia developed a Cortical Evoked Potential Analyzer (CEPA) which is ideally suited to fitting hearing aids on infants, children and other that cannot provide a biological response.
As mentioned in my Finding out our Baby was Deaf post, Harry received his first set of Phonak hearing aids when he was just 7 weeks old. It was quite a scary thought that our little baby would have...

Get up early and you can see Catalina (the comet not the island).
Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) visible in binoculars, maybe visible to the eye, in November. It'll be near the moon and Venus before dawn in early December.

Somehow including Real Ear Measurement when fitting a hearing aid needs to be included.
PCAST recommends changes in Federal regulations to accelerate uptake of hearing care by adults. The Hearing Instrument Association (HIA) opposes the recommendations for many reasons outlined in their recent report.

Wayne; This is one I'd like to print in color for a more complete study.
Hearing aid manufacturers, especially the Big Six, have been purchasing and operating their own stores, reducing the numbers owned by independent dispensers

Great Data to support the Message.
Would a consumer's preferred hearing aid have the same performance as recommended by an audiologist if given a choice among different operating algorithms?

With HEARLab they can objectively demonstrate what children can and cannot hear using hearing aids.  www.hearlab.nal.gov.au
A first-of-its-kind study discovered that many hard-of-hearing children who receive optimal, early services are able to “catch up or significantly close the gaps with their hearing peers,” say researchers at the University of Iowa, Boys Town National Research Hospital, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Their Brew Barge trips provide locals and tourists a view of Portland not often experienced. While lightly pedaling enjoy an adult beverage and some snacks. Enjoy the passing under city bridges and along Ross Island. I recommend the last trip of the day (6 PM-ish) so that you can see the city lights come on. The go have a nice dinner at one of several nearby restaurants.

Good place for small (4-8) sized groups as well as medium (12-20) sized groups. With small groups I sit in the front and play the Wii games. For medium sized groups I reserve the room in the back. They can provide limited audio visual aids. I have brought corporate clients here as well as had all (Frye Electronics, Inc.) factory staff for a lunch.

Enough space for setting up a band with a bar and plenty of room for tables and a dance floor. Semi-enclosed patio out side with you need some fresh air and a breaks for the loud music.

My only difficulty is getting there. They are not conveniently located; thus the 4 not 5 stars. They are, and have been since 2014, my prefered long term parking at PDX.
