Slievenamon, a mountain associated with Finn or Fionn and also the name of this week's storm in Ireland.

Slievenamon, Ireland in Winter

I've been working on this video for over a week now and finally have it ready.

This is a mountain whose name in Irish, Sliabh na mBan, means 'Mountain of the Women'.

I climbed it on a bright sunny winter's day with blue skies and green fields in the valley. Up on the top, after an easy climb to 721m, the mountain was an icy-snowy wonderland with views all over the fabulous Suir Valley and neighbouring mountain ranges.

Unexpectedly there were interesting aerial acrobatics, thousands of roosting crows and a colourful sunset.

Take care and enjoy the view!

The Evening Sky

Troubles for almost a week with my video editing software, it's been a long process but finally I hope there is a solution.

For now here is one of a mighty fine evening sky on a journey through County Kildare in Ireland's midlands.

Bumblebee in January

It's my first sighting of 2018, a busy bumblebee flying around on the few flowers available at this time of year.

From today in Ireland.

Through the woods we went.

Hope you're all having a good weekend, today in working on a video of my recent climb up the snowy mountain.

Some inspiration from the Irish countryside.

Morning at the coast

I'm looking through some of my favourite images from the past few years and this has to be one of the most impressive sunrises that I have witnessed in Ireland.

On Top of the World, Ireland

Not quite, just about 720m above sea level but the views were outstanding and what a day for it.

Saint Patrick's Day

Since we are now in 2018, my thoughts are turning towards the events during the first few months of the year. Of course a big event in the Irish calendar is the 17th of March, Saint Patrick's Day.

Here is sunset from Ireland on Saint Patrick's Day 2016 after I had been to Galway to photograph the festival atmosphere.

In the mountains, Ireland

A short video clip from my recent hike above the Irish countryside.

More to come on this subject.

A beautiful day for it I'm sure you will agree.

In the mountains, in the snow - Ireland

From yesterday's walk in the mountains, it started off in green fields and walled lanes but at the top snow and ice made the cold winds worth the climb.

Here I am with backpack, tripod and camera silhouetted against the blue sky, white crispy conditions.
