SonarQube and LetsEncrypt
Recently I've completed moving our "temporary" SonarQube to something which is a bit more production ready.  This pretty much looks like a Windows server hosted in Azure, backed by an Azure SQL database with a reverse proxy in front of it so that we can ena...

I've not been overly active on here lately, something I should remedy in the new year given the wonderful people who roam these halls. But anyway have a happy new year all and may the new year bring you the joy and happiness you deserve.

Apparently this is the best course to take if you are interested in learning how to functionally program in Javascript.  I've heard it mentioned in multiple podcasts.  #javascript #js #ramda

"BBC business correspondent Joe Lynam said it was not clear what the encryption requirements were for companies holding customer data."

Let's try applying common sense instead of relying on being told what to do
Business leaders call for urgent action to tackle cyber-crime following the TalkTalk attack, describing it as one of the biggest threats facing companies.

Comparing with the previous row using Microsoft Power BI
This is something which has come up recently at work which at first glance seems like it should be straight forward ( tl;dr it is when you know how) but if you're new to Power BI or Power Pivot then it's something which takes some thinking about.  Please no...

NOOOOO!

I'm quite fond of Blind Spot but they've done a hacking episode and it's just painful (except the dig at Perl).

5 things to watch in 2016 #programming
5 Things to know about software development FTW in 2016. Know all the things? No way! Here's the important stuff. How many software developers are there? Millions! And, I'm guessing you are one if you are reading this. Well, the tricky part about picking five things to focus on is that there are ...

I feel for anyone who has been affected by the TalkTalk security breach.

I'm also glad to see The Mirror taking a balanced and sensible approach to reporting on the situation.

"Jeremy Corbyn eats small children and wants old people to just die!"

Is the headline I'm expecting to see from The Telegraph tomorrow

It just beggars belief what they're all getting their titties in a twist over - we're not obliged to like, support, or observe the traditions of the royal family. It's really exposing a blind "faith" and expectation similar to that of catholicism in Ireland.

It just goes to show that 99% of people in power are lapdogs - yes maam, no maam, do you want me to kneel for you, maam. Pitiful.

Introduction
I'm a programmer, Linux enthusiast and motorbike lover from Derbyshire in the UK. Recently I've started getting into photography but I'm still an absolute novice but it's relaxing and enjoyable plus it gives me an excuse to play with cool gadgets. I currently programme in Python, C++ and C# and now looking at Go and anything else that catch my interest

Amazing day out here and the kids loved every moment, especially milking a goat and seeing the penguins get fed. It was a shame so many of the animals were inside sleeping, but that's a fault of the weather rather than the venue.
