distcc between an i7 quad-core 2.8GHz system, and an i7 quad-core 3.4GHz system ... is sweet.

This should start to get nearly as fast as binary distros. :D

I have not updated my gentoo server in... too long (lost remote access from work, used to be an "oh hey, emerge --sync; emerge -auDNv world" lunchtime thing.

This is a pain in the ass now.

Apparently, "发自我的 iPhone" means "Sent from my iPhone" in Chinese.  But if you take just the Chinese characters and put them into google translate, "发自我的" translates as "Fat ego".

Oddly, when I see "Sent from my iPhone" in English, I translate that as "Fat ego" too.

If you're in Alberta and are at all concerned about future generations' ability to perform basic skills, like multiplication, whether that's because you have or will have kids or grandkids, or it's because you're hoping to employ some of them at some point in the future, we really need to let the provincial government know that #NewMath  is already killing our ability to compete, we can't afford any more time on this failure of an experiment!

Don't you hate it when you offer someone a solution to their problem and they go roll their own and introduce all the problems that your solution had solved?

I've been slowly replacing my bulbs with LEDs. But the up front cost is still prohibitive for many. Nevermind opportunity cost.

Congrats to Mike that he is affluent enough to afford it. Shame on Mike for applauding a move that impoverished further people who are already living paycheck to paycheck or worse.

Figures don't lie, but mathematicians sure do figure.

Hmmm, not quite the same ring.
