Recently, Ellie and I have tried to get out of the apartment as much as possible because the weather has been nicer and we both have cabin fever from the longer Winter than usual in recent years. We try to walk for a bit before dinner when possible, just…
I've decided I'm going to start walking the cat on a leash. She is going to love it, I'm convinced, now that I'm taking a better approach to it.

Just figured out how to take 4 seconds off the page load time for the company website. If only I could implement the change without it having to go through the website committee (read: the whole company).

My French boss just asked why they can't have English speaking people give presentations.

New development, I think the presenter has a French accent.

Did she like it? You might want to get her flea and tick treatments if you plan on taking her out more.

This one looks like a real receipt printed out from a computer and everything. It says Tantalit’s director, Pavel Litovchenko, gave someone called Andrei $561,700. Good for Andrei!

Good for Andrei!
Documents show Viktor Yanukovych spent millions of dollars on furniture, hundreds of thousands of dollars on fresh flowers, and had a bodyguard who kept tabs on the opposition.

So that work I started on Friday and handed off to someone else to complete was done incorrectly. Most measurements were converted incorrectly. Granted, I should have checked them Friday, but also they should have been done without any errors.

Ever since I’ve gotten back from the Peace Corps, I wanted to do more with my life. I wanted more than a job and an apartment and a car to get between the two. There was this need to be doing something that helped the community, no matter how small or…

Introduction
No one has ever called me "Mellow Yellow." Though I like to think so, I'm pretty sure that Carrie Simon never wrote a song about me.

In college I was disappointed to find out that they didn't offer a major in "Pop Culture References" because I certainly would have graduated top of my class without worrying about Minkus having more A's than me.

There have only been two times since 2006 that I've had an undoctored profile picture. One instance was to keep my identity a secret in a game of assassins. The second time was a picture of me and my cat. I just love my cat.

I dislike travelling but I moved 5000 miles away from home. I guess I didn't think about that at the time.

At one point, early in my life, I saw a television show that exlpained how to throw a split-fingered fastball. I thought that was the proper way to throw a ball. It wasn't until late in high school that I learned why I had so much trouble throwing baseballs in from left field. I blame my coaches for not caring.

I once learned to ride a motorcyle, got my license and bought a bike all in a week.

I've put more miles on my bicycles than anyone I know who doesn't train for biking competitions.

My dream job is to be a mailman.

I had given up interest in school before going to college. After college I still had no interest in going to school. I accredit this to how I managed to get in and out in four years even with switching my major halfway through.

For years I've been trying to decide on a superpower I wish I had. I've narrowed it down to 'space/time control' and 'telepathy'.

I recently had my bike serviced by Action Power Sports and the service was terrible. I needed two new tires, chain, and sprockets installed. I purchased them and dropped off my bike the day before the scheduled appointment. Then the fun began. When I dropped off my bike I was told it would be done the same day as the appointment. Not having done business with Action Power Sports before, I was unaware of their procedures and assume what they said was in fact what would happen. As it turns out, one of their mechanics called in sick and they fell behind and my bike wasn't finished the day I was told. They failed to call and let me know that I shouldn't stop in to pick it up. This, to me, is common courtesy as they didn't say they would call to let me know when it was done. Or, if they weren't going to call, they should have found a replacement for the sick mechanic so they would not have fallen behind and their word wouldn't have been broken. Then, when I went to pick up my bike the following day, it still wasn't ready. Granted, I went in shortly after they opened, but the bike should have been done the day before. The customer service rep, Brad, told me that the work I was having done should take at least 4 hours to do. If that was the case, they wouldn't have quoted me for 2 hours of work. I asked him how long it would take for them to finish the bike, and I was told about an hour. I considered waiting but didn't because I needed to be elsewhere in two hours. Good thing too, it was 2.5 hours before I got a call saying my bike was ready. When I picked up my bike, I was shocked to find out that the total for the work was $70 more than I was told it would be. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and $14 of that was tax which I hadn't accounted for. $11 was for wheel weights which I would assume is included in the "Mount and Balance" charge but isn't. $23 was for a single tube for my wheel. When I asked about the tube, they said that's a standard fee and standard practice to replace the tubes when they replace the tires. My question was why wasn't this added to the quoted price off the bat and why, when I have 2 tube tires, was only one tube replaced? Anyway, $8 was for tire disposal. Thanks. Then there was a bogus charge of $9.42 for "Shop Supplies". For the service I had done, I can't imagine where this money went. The only thing I could think of was for chain oil but from my experience, chains come pre-oiled. I would not recommend Action Power Sports to you if you believe in quality business practice. If you set a deadline, you should stick to it. If you tell a person that your work will cost a certain amount, you shouldn't be throwing new standard charges in their face when they go to pay.

This place has a great selection of drinks and cigars. The bartenders are more than helpful for those of us who do not know how to pick out and pair drinks with cigars. A little pricier than the other bars in the area but completely worth it. I do wish Maduro had amore seating but that may just be a testament to the establishment.
