This new version of outlook for iOS is surprisingly good!  I've been using the Mailbox app for a while, and Outlook has most of the must-have features that I've loved in that app.  It also integrates with more Email providers and does calendar stuff quite nicely (I currently use Sunrise for calendar).  I'll try it for a week, but this might replace Mailbox and Sunrise for me. We'll see...
Get back on top of your inbox. Email overload is the new norm. That's why Outlook helps you focus on what is most important and clear out the rest. The new Outlook app separates your mail into two tabs—Focused and Other. Important emails appear in your Focused inbox, while the rest remain easily ...

This awesome little white tail was exploring the house last night. These guys are actually pretty harmless unless you happen to be allergic - so I just let him get on with it 😉

Fascinating look at the history of the casta system in some part of latin america.  These systems still effect modern day opinions of skin colour in Mexico.

Today I'm unexpectedly listening to a new U2 album like it's 1987. It's a beautiful day

I used to have all their older stuff on vinyl. October was probably my favorite. I also liked The Unforgettable Fire.

The funny thing is I listen to U2's less successful contemporaries, these days. When they first started, they were kind of lumped in with the neo-prog crowd -- played shows with IQ and Marillion. Both bands are still around, but not even close to as successful as U2. Their music is too technical, not accessible.

U2 are PR masters... Like giving away this album to 500 million people -- genius. They did that from the get go, bringing in the politics of Ireland"/ struggle juxtaposed against the fight for human rights.

I remember the late 80s, the fight against Apartheid and the popularity of Amnesty International...

~ Twelve amused and four left laughing in satirical attack on IS headquarters ~ [NewsBiscuit] :: [Excerpt:] Twelve members of Islamic State have been left seriously amused after a ruthless gang of satirists forced their way into its headquarters and proceeded to ridicule up the place. Sarcasm, parody and irony are all said to have been used in what many are seeing as a broader attack on everyone’s freedom to stone homosexuals or cut babies in half. ‘What’s the world coming to when you can’t go about trying to establish a worldwide caliphate of unchallenged barbaric totalitarianism in peace?’ [More at the link.] ::  #atheism #satire  <<-----

This is an excellent review of the new Apple Watch from the perspective of a serious watch geek.  I think he's right:

"Brands like Suunto should be worried. Casio as well. Even Seiko with its Astron line could fall into the same group of those looking for pure function. The other thing that could spell trouble even for the Swiss is Apple's cool factor with the young. At 16, will someone want a swatch or an Apple watch? At 20 will they want a Hamilton or the Apple Watch 3. At 25 will they want an Omega or an Apple Watch Plus? That should be a very real concern for the Swiss, appealing to a younger generation of buyers who live and breathe Apple."
I'm not even sure we can call it a watch. Okay, it goes on the wrist, and it happens to tell the time, but that's about where the similarities between Apple's just announced watch and the hand-assembled, often painstakingly finished mechanical watches we write about, and obsess over, end. I was lucky enough to be invited to Cupertino to witness the announcement of the Apple Watch firsthand, and though I do not believe it poses any thr...

This is one of my favourite bars in Wellington. The vibe is laid back and friendly, there's no annoying distractions such as TV's, pool tables, gaming machines and so forth, so you can sit with your friends have have an actual conversation. Novel! The selection of beers is also awesome - they serve their own Sprig and Fern beers on tap (I've never bothered to check what they have in bottles) all of which are very good, and some are outstanding - looking at you Fern Draught! Go in a few times and the staff will remember your name and probably your usual order (unless you're like me and get something different every time!).

Great spot for a beer, and they really do have the best selection of beers in the city. I'm not exactly a regular, but it's often on my list of places to go when I'm in the city for an evening :)

We spent just two nights here shortly after Christmas 2009. We arrived late & exhausted after driving all the way from Wellington, but the English lady who met us (owner/manager I think) was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The views over the lake were also very pleasant. Anyway, I would recommend this hotel to a friend in a heartbeat.
