Twitter announced new rules for how developers and others can pull data from its service today. If you're confused about what Twitter wants to encourage and discourage with its new "quadrants," I did a comparison using the Star Trek universe and its own quadrants.

Kudos on a most imaginative explanation. Being a long time fan of Star Trek helped me easily make application of your views on Twitter's quadrants. 
Looks snobbish. "We will allow you to use your own content this way, but only this way."
I pretty much quit using Twitter when G+ came out anyways.
