Did you see the article I wrote for +Triple Pundit in July on the first Sustainable Beef General Assembly? You definitely want to check it out.
Last week I had the honor of attending the 1st General Assembly of the US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and report on it for Triple Pundit.. Quite a few deep green voices were missing from the conversation and some interesting things were said about those of us who advocate for organic and natural foods. What do you think? http://www.triplepundit.com/2015/07/u-s-roundtable-on-sustainable-beef-whats-the-beef/

Truth or deception? New report exposes how industry front groups are spending millions to shape the story of food.

Safe food bloggers and activists are being viciously attacked as "anti-science." It's not just their arguments that are being disputed, but they are being personally attacked and eviscerated in the media. Why is that?

+Kari Hamerschlag of +Friends of the Earth U.S., +Stacy Malkan of
+GMOs: What You Need to Know, Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and U.S. & +California Right To Know, and +Anna Lappe of
+Small Planet Institute Real Food Media Project investigated these PR campaigns and learned some staggering facts -- they are spending HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS waging PR wars to attack ‪#‎organic‬, promote ‪#‎GMOs‬, defend pesticides and push the corporate ag agenda. Because organic and non-GMO food sales are skyrocketing as more and more people are choosing healthier, more sustainable food produced without synthetic pesticides, GMOs or the routine use of antibiotics and added hormones.

Please read the report, and share widely. It's time to expose big agribusiness's nefarious practices to protect their profits at the expense of our health and environment.

On this historic day, my friend +Kelly Enders-Tharp shares the beauty of her relationship and wedding to her wife Erin. THIS is what gay marriage looks like. It looks just like straight marriage, but maybe with a bit more appreciation because of how long it's been denied. Congratulations to all my LGBTQ friends for having your civil rights affirmed today! #LoveWins

I wrote a letter asking my Congressman to vote to pass the Microbead-Free Waters Act. Will you? You can also sign the California Act as well.

Read this before you buy chocolate for #ValentinesDay. Lead is a neurotoxin that causes permanent brain damage. And cadmium is a carcinogen. Also, most of the brands on this list are not #fairtrade which means their producers are heavily exploited.
Lab test results obtained by the group examined 42 products, 26 of which contained lead and/or cadmium at levels above what the state of California considers safe. The brands that tested positive for heavy metals included Hershey’s, Mars, Ghiradhelli, Godiva, See’s, Lindt, Whole Foods, and Green and Black’s.

Some of the chocolate tested contained lead at levels up to 5.9 times California’s “safe harbor” level—or the maximum allowable daily limit—for reproductive harm, and found cadmium at levels up to 8.2 times the limit.

This is very encouraging and proof that I am in the right business.
Fascinating results from Nielsen's Global Health and Wellness Survey.

The data is very favorable for all things organic.
