Harvard professor: Coconut oil is “pure poison” because it contains 86% saturated fats

At least everyone agrees that trans fats are bad for you. But the negative hype around saturated fats is often still based on outdated studies and disproven theories. For opinions around saturated fat (and consumption of cholesterol in foods) you need to consult the latest studies (which this professor should have done).

That said, it is always best to try to balance your diet and it would be unwise to only eat coconuts all day long.
