Ah the sweet scent of bullshit in the morning. As an Android apps developer there's nothing you can do when OEMs decide to FUCK with system features.

To those who don't know what the images mean, I have an intent from Naptime to open the battery optimization settings page, which saves the users some sweet time from going to the Settings app and finding this page themselves. But of course, how can I bo so naive and expect these fucking oems to actually do this right? I genuinely expected this not to crash so I didn't even bother to wrap it in yet another try & catch (or some other defensive programming code).
And Google is as much to blame as them, why not be even more enforceful in the CTS? These things should not be fucked with.

This is a tiny bit of sand of bullshit - there are countless shit like this across the entire ecosystem where OEMs just fuck with this and developers have to "guess". But then again users don't know, so apps crash and they'll just rate 1 star and uninstall the app - so yeah it's perfect for us!

Thank you +Samsung Mobile USA, thank you +Xiaomi MIUI and thank you +Sony Xperia, you continue to fuck with Android beyond any reasonable understanding and you won't stop until your sales are beyond rock bottom.
I know I'm speaking on behalf of many developers who have even more serious issues than this one. My sympathies to the brave heroes who have to endure this bullshits when trying to make a living out of this.

Seriously, fuck you +Samsung Mobile USA, +Xiaomi MIUI, +Sony Xperia and all the other OEMs that do this.

Does your app have personal content? Help your users find it directly from the Google app for Android, even when they’re offline.

We’ve opened up early access to our updated Android API for Firebase App Indexing, with new functionality to index personal content from your app.

Content from your app can then appear for relevant queries in the Google app on Android in the new “In Apps” tab, or as an autocomplete suggestion: http://goo.gl/fk1STx

Searching personal results happens entirely on users’ phones, so they can search even when not connected to WiFi or cellular network.

We’re starting with an initial set of apps, and will continue expanding over the coming months. If you’re interested in early access, let us know at http://g.co/appindexing/personal.

Vysor Share

Remote screen and ADB access

There's a few tools already out that that lets you control your Android through your PC. Vysor isn't unique in that regard. However, I think I have the other apps beat in with seamless setup and compatibility (no root to boot). :)

However, I had actually envisioned Vysor as a developer tool. Vysor gives you all the benefits of a physical device, but with the ease and integration of an emulator in your development environment.

The headline feature of Vysor is Vysor Share. You can share your device to another Vysor user, across the office or across the globe. This means screen and ADB. This is something I've wanted as an indie dev for a long time: a way to deploy and debug on a remote tester's device. It's as easy as sending a link.

Vysor was actually leaked before I was ready to release, but the roadmap also includes Vysor Server: a device farm that your Android dev team can access remotely. Test device specific issues, run automated suites across a dozen devices, etc. You don't need to pass test devices around anymore, just access them through Vysor.

I've just published a medium article exploring the new Android Design Support Library, hopefully it'll be useful as a quick insight for people!
