This is the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned Warship that is still sea-worthy. Unless I'm mistaken its construction was completed in 1789, it served for about 70 years and saw action on a multiplicity of occasions including defeating the HMS Gurriere in mano y mano combat.
The US Navy and National Park Service maintain it. The Navy takes it out about 8 times a year, usually in tow with tugs. But if you have a fit crew aboard it can still make sail. They are planning to take it out later this year under its own power. Its very old and I was kinda blown away by its amazingly good condition and sheer beauty. I also expected it to be small like the Santa Maria and Pinta are. This thing is big...not like Aircraft Carrier big, but its a large ship with 55 canon or guns, as the Navy calls them.
If you visit Boston I recommend that you go visit it.
