Actually closer a really bad crispy fried duck.
It's not the best if I'm honest, but had to be done!

It's know as the warm up for Koko, but you should think of it as a venue in it's own right. It's often got a couple of floors of music, to suite your tastes. It opens late, and the drinks always seem ridiculously cheap, especially for London. They'll do you an Agwa bomb, with authentic glasses (which they also use for Jager Bombs.) If you need to ask what that is, you should go to the Turtle and find out.

Exactly what you would expect from a Camden pub. It's got something the other side of rock playing, often has gigs and is loud and busy. And let's admit it, it has a cool name. There is a good range of beer, which ranges from London prices to extortionate, but worth exploring.

It's not as good as Barrio, next door, but if you hit it at happy hour, it's a good place to start your evening, with 241 cocktails. There's glitz and glam, and the bar moves, so not too much waiting around.

It's time to get back to school! I spent a long time on the school bus, and then with my head in a fume hood. Monikers is a great way of getting a glimpse back at that - cut away school bus over one of the tables, chalk boards, conical flask glasses. It's cool. In other news the food is really good! The three female chefs created some great dishes. Wish, I'd taken pics.

You've actually got two unconnected venues here: upstairs dive bar with dance floor, and downstairs dive bar. They won't usually let you go from one to the other, so you have to chose your door when you're going in. It is open late, but they won't let you in in if you aren't already installed, so make sure you beat the cut off. The other nice thing is that there isn't a punishing entrance fee, so you can go in for "just one more..."

Cocktails are a bit of a disaster, but they come thick and fast and with theatrical flare. Try some of their group cocktails with some great ceramics. It's open late in the week, but probably a bit more hassle than it's worth at the weekends. You often get live music, and it's fun if you're looking for some fun in an evening.

It's not good for you, but don't get me wrong it is delicious, in an all american hero I love wings and dirty hotdogs kind of way. It's really good bad food. The cocktails are good, and the bar staff know what they are doing when they have time to breath. It's decor is cool, the ceilings is reminiscent of Gilbert and George. The space makes the most of the fact it used to be an old mission/convent.
