Think twice before you post that grinning voting booth selfie followed by the #turnoutforwhat hashtag, because you may be commiting a felony. ; As

Mein persoenliches Unwort des Jahres ist 'selbsternannt' inkl. Synonyme. Kein anderer Begriff verkoerpert so umschliessend die ganze Borniertheit der Berichterstattung in Deutschen Medien, allen voran im Spiegel.

A new study on the academic effects of homework offers not only some intriguing results but also a lesson on how to read a study -- and a reminder of the importance of doing just that: reading studies (carefully) rather than relying on summaries by journalists or even by the researchers themselves. Alfie Kohn explains.

To remember the one real German hero, who tried to end it 75 years ago - before it really began. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/one-man-against-tyranny-53850110/?no-ist
A lone German carpenter displays astounding determination, skill and ingenuity—and comes within 8 minutes of assassinating Adolf Hitler at the outset of World War II. So why is Georg Elser's name so nearly forgotten?

This page makes me think we should take them serious. It sounds Maine is in real danger now - serious healthcare experts like Donald Trump support that. I think we should consider to quarantine all of Maine for 21 days. Not sure if it's for Ebola, but they must have some other brain-eating bug spreading through the state. Let's call it LePageiitis?

The problem of course is that while Ebola may appear to be a disease
requiring medical knowledge to prevent and treat, it is actually a
political issue that can only be prevented and treated by either following
a Democrat, Republican or Libertarian ideology. And the correct ideology
can only be determined by seeing who can buy an election.

Maine is basically insignificant though with only as many electoral votes
as NH. In fact, Maine, NH and VT do not add up to one Massachusetts. But
then, one Texas is almost three Massachusetts. SO forget about Maine.
