Gonna be toasty around here tomorrow. But it looks like we'll be back to normal by the weekend.

A good voter is an informed voter. The DNC should schedule more debates, and should include more candidates from more parties in them.
The DNC announced they are going to cut the number of debates from 26 debates to only 6. We need more debates to let the candidates speak. #WeWantDebate!

It's like The Mist meets Maximum Overdrive around here today. Heavy rain (which, in most of the rest of the country, would just be 'rain') is causing America's worst drivers* to randomly collide, spin out of control on major roads, and otherwise create mayhem.

We're hunkering down and waiting for the pizza delivery guy to show up. Optimistically, odds are 1 in 5 that he makes it without incident.

So, if it's even possible that our universe is simulated, that drastically increases the likelihood that it is, and that we were created by some super intelligence in some other universe, which may itself be simulated. But, if we are in a simulation, that means our physics is fake, which drastically reduces the likelihood that those other universes even exist.

So ... obviously, this isn't the Matrix. Right?

Could we actually be living in the Matrix? You might be surprised.

Have you ever wondered what we should do with all the nuclear waste we've generated? What if you found out that the best solution was to build more reactors?

I just discovered that I've never been contacted by a headhunter.
Headhunters deal in high-value, high-profile appointments, charging an equally high fee. But few companies or individuals like to openly acknowledge their work. Why would a company need outside consultants to search its own backyard, as some do? Jolyon Jenkins follows academic headhunter Helen Yallop as she searches for a Master for an Oxbridge college, and gains a a fascinating insight into a hidden world.

Good, Fast, Friendly. - They were able to take my car in the day I called them and the problem was diagnosed before I turned the keys over. While getting my contact information, they offered to drive me home ... twice! (I live withing walking distance and felt like stretching my legs, but they did offer me a ride two times.) About 90 minuets after dropping the car off I got the call that it was ready to be picked up, and was given a thorough description of what they found wrong and what they did to fix it. No car repair is ever "cheep", but I thought that the price for this service seemed very reasonable. I left the shop with a good feeling about them, and they'll be getting more of my business the next time the car acts up.

I attempted to make an appointment with this doctor and was informed by his staff that I would be required to pay a $1650 annual "concierge" fee for the privilege of being one of his patients. This would be in addition to whatever he can wring out of my insurance carrier, of course. Ridiculous! Greedy! Elitist! Nonsense!

A coworker brought some of Roly's delicious pastries to work this afternoon. I'm going back for seconds! The flaky guava filled one (I'm sorry I don't know the name) is just fantastic. I'm told that there is usually a wait inside, but based on what I tasted today it's worth it.

For a chain restaurant they make a pretty good pizza. It's geared toward takeout. There's only one small table at this location, and only two chairs for that table, making my meeting there with 2 other coworkers slightly awkward. (I wound up standing for most of it.) I'd eat 'from' here again, but maybe not 'in' here.
