While obsessively Googling Vladimir Voevodsky as a way of assimilating the news of his death, I came across references to an autobiographical note that explains why he moved from conventional mathematical research towards his more recent work on foundations and homotopy type theory. It's a good length and at a good level if you want to get some idea of what his motivations were without spending a long time trying to get your head round the details. (The short answer, which I once had the privilege to hear from him in person, was that in his field there were a number of examples of very serious work, including by him, that turned out to have important mistakes. This led him to think that the current practice of believing in a result if enough other experts believe in it was no longer sustainable.)

It turns out you can forget how to ride a bike.   (Entertaining video about learning to ride a bike where the steering is rigged / reversed).
