Come join us for a Drink and Click photowalk at VIVID festival in Sydney.

We will meet at a pub for a drink/dinner and then walk around enjoying the light shows and art. Afterwards we will head to another pub for more drinks :)

Exact location will be posted closer to the date but keep this evening free :) I have chosen it mid-week on purpose because VIVID gets expecially crowded during the weekends.

Cheers :)

The capsules appear so enticing, filled with the promise of thrills, joy, human enlightenment. So what exactly is inside? The dark truth behind today's drug du jour, molly.

Attention StarGazers: Watch for the "Income Tax" Lunar Eclipse, beginning Mon night 12:53am ET (Tue Morning). Lasting 3.5 hrs
After midnight Monday ET, the Full Moon ambles deep into Earth's projected shadow in space: Behold a Total Lunar Eclipse.
Dust in Earth's atmosphere can tint sunlight, casting eclipsed Moons in a deep red light. But often the Moon just gets dark.
Total Eclipses occur every couple of years or so. If anyone calls them "rare", ask if they feel that way about the Olympics.
At 3.5 hrs, Total Lunar Eclipses are long & boring. Wait for the Moon to enter the deepest part of Earth's shadow: 1:58am ET.
Those who don't know a Lunar Eclipse is in progress will likely mistake Earth's shadow for the Moon going through phases.
Lunar Eclipses are visible from the entire Earth hemisphere facing the Moon. That’s billions & billions of people  : - )
Hmmm. I understand that some people want to call this eclipse the "Blood Moon”. If it’s red, I’ll be thinking of rose petals.

Must go back to Oz and see this.

Fine French dining has arrived in Austin. La V is an exceptionally wonderful addition to the Austin dining scene. The menu is inspired from the Provence region of France, meaning the dishes are not silly art food - "one bite only" servings. The plates are excellent portion sizes thankfully since the price of the plates will definitely make you take notice of what you order. Despite that, it is well worth it. The food was fantastic. I'm a colossal food snob and I won't hesitate to point out an issue with my food, especially considering the price. My friends and I ordered a patE and cheese plate for starters. Both were sumptuous. The cheese plate in particular as it had me mumbling profanities under my breath it was so delicious. I wanted to swim in all that melted cheesey deliciousness. For dinner I ordered a steak and frites off the bar menu. Fries were not bad, but the steak was perfect. "Cooked" rare to perfection just as I like it. For desert we split a lavendar custard which was another experience on the level of divine. La V is also very wine forward, as they dropped a "binder of wines" for us to pick over to have with our meal. I am not a wine drinker but they did have many bottles to choose from, some ranging up to the thousands of dollars range. Kind of ridiculous, especially for an East Austin restaurant, but I understand this is the type of establishment they want to be. You can have wine by the glass if your wallet is more Austin rather than Las Vegas. They also do craft cocktails, which were more my speed. The Negroni I ordered was made perfectly. Don't even bother with asking for a beer, they only have 3 taps. Sad since so many beers pair well with hearty French fare. They were well chosen however. Very drinkable for the majority of people. The decor is really something special. They spent a lot of money making the establishment look like a Five Star restaurant. Just be aware of the homeless and hipsters wandering around the area, they might ask for a cigarette.

Fantastic place for a date or for a meal with a small group of friends. The best time to go would be for happy hour as the appetizers are half off if I recall correctly. The diversity of meals is amazing and the quality is simply perfect. Beer list is very good as well, for not really being a beer centered establishment. They seem to have an excellent wine selection as well. The paté was sublime, as were the "tacos". For desert we got a butterscotch mouse, it was supremely decadent and had to have been an absurd amount of calories.

Great spot for any time of the day. They pride themselves on high standards for pulling and brewing coffee. And the coffee is very good indeed. THe beer selection is also very well curated. The food menu is small, mostly sandwiches and appetizers. However I've had their Duck Rillettes and bourbon chicken liver paté, and both were really good. The spiced pecans are amazing and the perfect snack while sharing a beer with a friend. Great place for an early date or starter. Very chill atmosphere.

Awesome place for home style southern cooking. Their ribs are melt off the bone good, and the chicken fried chicken is huge. Great place for a family dinner, they do large groups too but it's best to call ahead for that. Lunch during the week and on Sunday is always a zoo, try to go before or after lunch on those days, as you might be waiting a while for a seat. If they happen to be serving it that day, order the bourbon pecan cheese cake. It's amazing.

South Austin finally has a good beer destination. The idea is a brew pub that serves pizza and sandwiches. Similar feel to Pinthouse Pizza in north central Austin, super family friendly. Lots of people with kids, which I personally feel is a detracter as I don't want to be around hundreds of kids running around when I'm enjoying beer. They also have a large out door beer "garden" which is thankfully, super pet friendly. Bring your dogs! The pizzas are thin crust and very good, but they are all very large, no personal sizes. Their house brews are very good as well. Very diverse options and well done. The brewer used to work at Uncle Billy's on Barton Springs.

Perfect place to people watch and get a coffee. I go here often to do home work or get out of the office and work remotely. I always order the Iced Turbo, a nice cold and sweet coffee drink. This location is entirely out doors seating so having a cool drink is perfect. Jo's Coffee is also super pet friendly and you can find lots of rescue groups some times bringing out pets for adoption. The fun ones are the cats on leashes who sit on the benches.
