Coming soon: GIMP Magazine!
While it won't be a print magazine in the traditional manner, a digital magazine about a digital image editor makes sense. There are dozens of beautiful, and stupidly expensive, Photoshop magazines out there. One of my favourites happens to be a UK import and costs $15 American...
Fifteen bucks for a magazine. Needless to say, I don't have a lot of issues of that one. It's too bad that they have to print these digitally created, totally computer portable images on paper. If only there were some other way!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. I use GIMP a lot for photo editing, creating, and digital painting. It's not the "free alternative" to Photoshop any more than Crayola coloured pencils are a cheaper alternative to Blick. They're different, but you can do similar things with both.
And one doesn't cost... well, what's Photoshop up to these days? $700?
