FB properties and participation carries with their core usefulness a grand mess of ads, security lapses, sharing confusion, triviality and immaturity, most of which is unavoidable. Exposure to such nonsense is mandatory for participation.
Changing social networks most likely will take a while (months not days) but if you exhibit patience and maturity, share quality versus quantity, and help others when necessary you
might corral your social circle away from FB's jumbled mediocrity. Nothing of value ever comes easily. It may actually require effort or maybe even hurt
Friends and family will, given time and opportunity, either see the light or not. One can only truly lead by example. What matters and what you
can control is how much choice, security and maturity you
want in your social interactions.
