For those of you who are fellow fans of (formerly) fan expansion The Cauldron, tosc announced that Greater Than Games, himself, and Drive Through Cards are finishing off the final details of a licencing agreement! Proofs are being printed now and it sounds like the expansion will be officially licensed and available before the Oblivaeon campaign ends.

In the sister show to the one I mention recently (Kamen Rider Drive, specifically) it is revealed that French food all has sauce on it.  Not only that, but all food by a given chef uses the exact same sauce which is pretty much the sole indicator of how good all the food is.  Doesn't even matter what you do with any of the other ingredients.

Silly fun in this case.  It also demonstrates how silly foreign stereotypes are.  It's one thing to look at our own.  It's another to see them through the lens of a third culture.  They would probably find our own stereotypes equally hillarious.

I know one that I hear all the time is the stereotype of American's being violent gun slinging maniacs.  Not only is this not really true, but most of the gun violence takes place in areas where guns are not as common.  In no place do you have people carrying around and firing guns everywhere.  Gun battles in the street almost never happen at all.  Yet that's what some Europeans that I've heard from actually believe it's like.

I'm sure out stereotypes of Europeans are equally hillarious to those of you who fall under whatever European nationally you might think of.

Those of you who are fans of the fan-made Cauldron expansion might be interested to know that Spiff has begun updating his accessories to include Cauldron content.  Several Large sized heroes and one Villain are now available.

Because I apparently have too much time on my hands, I took the Google Doc we use for Sentinels playing and tried to give it some of the functionality of the HTML/ Excel versions and came up with this.  It's just Environments so far and only the first sheet, but the same thing will work with everything.  You can no select the Evironment from a drop down menu and it will populate the names of all the cards as drop down menus below it.  You can also type in the name of a card or environment and it will suggest the closest match.  Let me know what you think.  I'll see about adding the hero/villains later.  It's quite easy to do,  Copy and paste from the card list mostly.

+Richard Gillingham I forgot to ask, is it running faster on your end too?  It did on mine as soon as I made the move to the new version of docs and I'm curious if everyone else is experiencing the same.

Just checked out the Oblivaeon Kickstarter, and they are arleady at 320,000.  Not only have they far exceed their goals in about 8 hours, but they've blown through every single  mentioned stretch goal three times over.  They haven't even had time to reply to all this.

And folks like me are only just now getting off work, so it's going even further.

The statuses of SS Tachyon and Kvothe Six-string in the pomo foil packs have been clarified.  SS Tachyon will be included. Kvothe will be replaced by a new promo identical in every way except for art and name.

Apparently, according to Japanese children's television, the English are all obsessed with their lawns and count lawnmowers among their most cherished possessions.

"A lawnmower is an Englishman's pride!"

Of course we do have lawns and lawn mowers but they aren't up there in the priority list for most people.

So now unexpectedly, we get two new free things for Sentinels, Villain Challenge Mode, a new hard mode for each Villain (including the Cosmic ones) and Hero Challenge Achievments, which is what it sounds like.  This pretty much makes all the new Nemeses in Cosmic public knowledge and reveals the name of Scholar's nemesis--Biomancer!
I'm excited to share something with you today that we've been working on for a LONG time here. This has been a thing Adam and I have wanted to do for years, but haven't had the time or resources. So, when we hired Jenn to be our full-time graphic designer, we mentioned this to her as a project ...

So now the fight to force people to get cable subscriptions has reached such height of lunacy that I'm not even allowed to watch promos for certain shows online anymore without proving I have a cable subscription.  That's right, I can't watch a glorifies advertisement whose purpose it is to get me interested in watching a show available on free to air tv unless I pay to have a cable subscription.  The amount of contempt I have towards whatever jerk faces decided this is a good idea is beyond comprehension.

Watching Amazing Spider-Man 2, and while it so far is not as bad as I've heard, there's some major Stupidity here, so some thoughts.  Probably some spoilers.

1.  An armored car is running through and destroying dozens of cars which are moving, so that have people in them.  Spidey's already holding on to the driver's side door and leaning in.  He could easily open the door with his super strength, yank the bad guy out, and stop the car. Does he do so?  No, he leaves the car to rescue one hapless idiot standing in the middle of the street while the armored car continues to crush and destroy many more cars killing and injuring what must be dozens of people, if not more.  And he stands around and talks to the idiot for a few minutes while even more people die. Jerk.

2.  Gwen find out that he's been stalking her every day for weeks.  She finds this touching somehow.  Ick.

3.  So electric surges cause massive explosions now?  Do fuses and transformers not exist in this universe?

If I find more stupidity later, I'll post it too.

Okay, finished it and nothing further to add to the stupidity list.

Overall it was okay, if not spectacular.  The one thing that really bothered me was the creepy stalking angle to Pete and Gwen's relationship.  The REALLY bothered me, especially since the movie acts like that's not only okay, but even endearing.

It does have some interesting ideas, although I wish they had actually used Electro instead of just his name and a vague sense of his powers.  I don't care of the bulky Rhino suit, but they can fix it by giving him a smaller improved version later.  I'm okay with it being a powered suit, just not that extreme of a change.
