I thought this might be relevant to the interests of the archlinux|arm G+ community since it uses both arch arm and G+. I recently set up a few security cameras around the house and picked up a Raspberry Pi and installed arch on it to manage them.
Whenever there's movement detected, the cameras upload photos to the Pi through FTP. I use a script to add the black borders so that it meets the size requirement for G+, add exif data for date/location, and sort by which camera it comes from. Then grive (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/grive/
) syncs the pictures with my google drive since there's still no official Linux client.
Google+ then does a decent job of sorting pictures for significance since there's a lot of plain shots of my doors. Auto awesome also makes nice gifs of any motion.
All in all I'm very impressed by archlinux|arm - packages build with relative ease and everything works just like I expected.
