The video from +Jafar Husain's talk on ES7 is now online. My mind was was blow away by his description of observables. Take that as a warning. :-)

yessss multiline strings without needing \n via backticks. es6 come to me
ES6 Template Strings working in Chrome. String literals with embedded expressions enable easier string interpolation.

More info on the feature over on MDN: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/template_strings

This is currently staged behind the --es-staging flag. More info on how that works in the new V8 feature release process: https://developers.google.com/v8/launchprocess

Also supported in Traceur, 6to5, Closure Compiler, Firefox 34+.

Sexism in Tech. "It begins with simple threats. You know, rape, dismemberment, the usual."

Trolls use a very simple scheme to discredit their victims. First they attack them "for the lulz". If they go away, great. If they don't go away, they step up the game and attack them to discredit them, raising the narrative that they are "playing the victim". It's a lose-lose situation for their victims. And every single time we wonder whether hey, maybe the victim should not have done this, or should not have done that, then the victim would not be there … every time we do that, we play the game the trolls want us to play. Every time we do that, we are puppets on strings.

Don't.

This is one of the best pieces of the general tactics used by trolls online these days I have ever read. It is long, but if you can make the time, somehow, please do read it.
