Oi Pessoal,

O Orkut fechou definitiva e oficialmente hoje.

Abstract: The following proposition is justified from several different points of view. If you use P = 0.05 to suggest that you have made a discovery, you will be wrong at least 30 percent of the time. If, as is often the case, experiments are under-powered, you will be wrong most of the time.

Regras  -

Oi Pessoal,

A coisa procede? Faz sentido?"

For the folks that truly believe that "grades" measure "education", this study should help put some facts in perspective,

Also, this: "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." (And, "No!", this was not said by Einstein. :-P )

Introduction

A well-known scientist (some say it was Bertrand Russell) once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the center of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy. At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: "What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise." The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, "What is the tortoise standing on?" "You're very clever, young man, very clever," said the old lady. "But it's turtles all the way down!"
