I finally got my tractor. Just in time to bush some hogs. #dowhat   #homesteading
Our first two summers here, we paid a local tractor mechanic to cut our pastures and yard. He lived close enough to drive his tractor and bush hog (rotary cutter) over without a trailer. It wasn’t cheap, but it was was actually cheaper than having our little yard kept up in Texas. After generations of …

Looks like this is the last Macbook Pro I will ever own. Apple has removed all but one port on their path to a portless MBP. I don't do bluetooth. I don't do wifi. So basically, Apple is no longer for me.

I would say come to linux... but if you haven't left already, you probably have a pretty darn good reason. (from a former Apple person)

I keep seeing articles saying that Google is slowly but surely dismantling Google Plus. If G+ goes away, what will you use instead?

Until 200 years ago, the most common medical practice was bloodletting. The medical community strongly believed that bloodletting would help the body achieve balance.

In every age and era, scientists make assumptions based on beliefs that will someday be refuted.

Fair point. There have been so many pros and cons that I hesitate to cast a final judgment.

Those peer reviewed medical studies that support your theory that science is unbiased? Many of them are fraudulent.
Recent reports have revealed that conflicts of interest and research fraud are rarely reported in the scientific literature or announced to the general public, which raises questions about the integrity of clinical trials and the reliability of public agencies like the FDA and CDC.

So a Detroit man walks 21 miles each day to get to/from work, and this somehow points to a broken system? Huh. Maybe it just points to a broken Media.
One man in Detroit walks 21 miles each day to get to work, from his home in Detroit to a factory in Rochester Hills, a suburb. Twenty one miles? Think about that. At a decent gait of 5 mph, that’s a little more than 4 hours of walking. Imagine he’s at work at least 9 hours. …

I gave you the punchline on Facebook yesterday, but here's my reason why I think you should take the time to write down your story.
I’ve already explained my reason for writing, journaling, and blogging my story. But something was missing. I didn’t hit the mark. I talked about some things I hope to accomplish. But I think there is a greater mission. At the core, I think we ALL should write at least part of our stories and pass them down to …

This stuff actually works. And it's probably on your spice rack right now.
They say a smile is . . . The prettiest thing you can wear. I say that, given some of the questionable fashion choices I’ve made since becoming a mom (hello pj’s at 2pm!), that’s never been more true. Americans spend over a billion dollars a year on over-the-counter tooth whitening products, often without [&hellip

"Every PR firm worth its salt has them or knows where to find them. In the large firms that tend to represent corporate, political, or celebrity interests, there are entire divisions of hundreds of interns dedicated to monitoring and influencing online media — doing everything from leaving comments on blogs and news sites to harassing users on Twitter, from leaving a string of hostile anonymous asks on Tumblr blogs to charging headlong into Facebook discussions."

Good question, +Natalie KC. I think we have to hold judgments lightly, with the willingness to reevaluate. We also probably should learn to ask better questions. Hard questions. Uncomfortable questions.

Introduction
I'm a writer at heart. I love quality conversations, IMs, and journaling in the late evenings. I feel pleasure and satisfaction when I hold a pen. It's my power animal thingermabob.

************************************************************
We are officially homesteading as of 2013. My goal at this point of life is to simplify as much as possible, to cut out unnecessary steps in the process of converting work to food, to develop practical food-generating/sustainable skills, and to develop an ever-growing sense of connection to and appreciation of God's Creation and natural order.

************************************************************
I'm a die hard Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys fan.

I love Jesus, and I owe Him everything. He transformed me from a wretched lifestyle and gave me EVERYTHING. My wife and three children are the world to me, and I choose family over business every chance I get.

Some times I will ONLY share content related to one of my topical circles. Which Of My Circles Do You Want To Be In? Send me a message and I'll make sure to add you to the right conversations.

  • Buddies (frequent talkers)
  • Prophetic (hearing God and obeying His voice)
  • Homesteading (people who are living the dream or watching and learning)
  • Sports (talking NBA and NFL)
  • Real Food (people who are on the path to becoming "real food" enthusiasts)
  • Blogging (for people who blog about blogging)
  • WordPress (talking about WordPress themes, plugins, functionality, news)
Bragging rights
Relocated from Texas to Tennessee in 2012 to take up homesteading in a near ideal climate.
